Actually, the improved physics is probably the best announcement they've ever done in the history of the franchise. Actual development on the match engine, who woulda thought it?

Bourne didn't mocapped this shooting star press, in the video it's the Paul London SSP used for the last 4-5 games, it's not even the one they made for last year SVR !!!

There it is. Vince has been added to the page as the final Raw guy. They also added Hornswoggle (Manager), Paul Bearer (Manager), and Shelton Benjamin to the SmackDown side. That leaves 3 spots open for SmackDown, I'd say Mickie James and Mike Knox are safe bets.

The only other active wrestler candidates for the last spot are Jimmy Wang Yang, Slam Master J, and Kung Fu Naki. Frankly, I can't see how any of those guys got in over Khali (even if he WAS planning on taking time off) or even Chris Masters (who got relegated to DLC) so I'd guess it is going to be something totally out of left field, like a playable Matt Striker or something.

I'm wondering when the "proper" CAW video will be out. Each year there is usually a video taking you through the CAW mode, showing you most of it, if not all of it.
Another thing, if Randy Orton has a ref costume, does that mean special guest refs are back? I enjoyed those matches in the old games.

Yeah exactly. Pretty lame, because who wants to wrestle in a ref shirt? It's just like they made it for the RTWM, and decided they best make the most of the model, and make it playable in exhibition.


Remember in the old SD games, when you chose a special referee the wrestlers whole top area became a default referee body?

They have said that they're looking to upgrade 'Threads' to an attire editor in the next couple of years (apparently it's just more complicated than they anticipated). So maybe when that comes into play, we'll see the return of a Special Ref mode, where they get a ref shirt placed on them for the match?

Good thing: Sheamus had Orton up in the Razors Edge, and WALKED over towards the table and threw him through it. GOOD! THUMBS UP! It's like No Mercy, where you can powerbomb somebody onto the bell and it goes DING! Not like the past Smackdown games where it has its own animation and just seems way too....proper? Is that the word? I don't know. Then again, I don't know alot.

That's one of the reasons I'm actually looking forward to the game. I liked that about No Mercy. Jackknife Powerbombing someone onto the ladder was fun and now Smackdown finally has that with the added bonus of physics and weapon damage like the ladder buckling after someone is thrown onto it in the video. Could have sworn I saw ladder damage somewhere. Anyone know where I might have seen that?

All I really need now to be 100% onboard is a good, fun CAW mode. Hopefully this years game will have it.

Yeah, ladders can snap in half etc.

You are able to throw people on any weapon, like PorkSoda said, things don't really have their own animation now. It just interacts where it needs to. Like you could Pedigree someone on a chair, just because the chair is there while you do it.


More pumped for this game than I have been about any game in while, let alone a wrestling game.

Yeah and I think in one of the vids Sheamus used the Razors Edge in the ring, and actually turned towards the center of the ring before dropping his opponent.

According to Kotaku late in August, they let details out that every version of WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011, released at launch in Canada will come with a download code for Bret “The Hitman” Hart. So that is probably what the limited edition means.

Having a canadian hero of today, a International Wrestling icon like the Undertaker and guy who is rumored to be a top guy on Friday Night Smackdown on The Score and Syfy is a smart decision by THQ.

As it appears this may be only for the PS3 and Xbox 360, do to those system having the abilities to have Downloadable content via Playstation Network and Xbox Live.
