Just read that online, I don't think they take their place. I think you are thinking of the rule where if the conference champion finishes out of the top 12 in the BCS 4 years in a row that conference loses its automatic BCS bid. |

Would that theoretically mean that if Boise State could finish top 12 in the BCS for three more years then the WAC could become a BCS conference?

I don't think thats in the rules and I don't think it should be either.
Since it would just be one team winning it every single time. |

Wisconsin has got to be one of the lesser 11-1 teams of all time, but I think the Capitol One Bowl against Auburn is pretty much set for them, isn't it?

It's surprising how many sub-500 teams the Big Ten has. The Big 12 has Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Missouri, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Kansas and Oklahoma State all eligible.

Jesus, what a day in football...
Texas loses to A&M (YES!) Arkansas loses to LSU (Damn, they were a fun cinderella team) So still in line for No. 2: Florida, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame I really think that regardless, if Florida wins the SEC they should be in. |

I was really hoping for Arkansas to win out and fuck everything up. O well.
It seems like we're doing this every week, but here we go again. If Notre Dame beats USC, and Florida loses, its gotta be Michigan. Because Michigan crushed Notre Dame. If USC beats Notre Dame and Florida wins.. I dont even know. I was really clouded with the thought of Arkansas winning it all. I looked at Florida's schedule and immediatly thought of how impressive it could look if they win out and win the SEC championship. Victorys over LSU, Tennessee, Georgia and potential wins over Florida St ( Huge rivalry game and FSU's defense is one of the best in the country ) and Arkansas, thats impressive to me. Compared to UCS, whos has wins over Nebraska, Oregon, Cal and potentially Notre Dame. I dunno. It's a toss up. Probably USC, but not by much. Michigans big wins...Notre Dame and Wisconsin. Everything else wasnt that impressive. This is going to be ugly |

I heard a great conspiracy theory. If Nevada beats Boise St. today, they stand to lose atleast 1.1 million dollars for the athletic program, because that would knock Boise St. out of any BSC contention. So people are wondering if Nevada would throw the game.
I personally dont think that will happen. Infact i think Nevada will win outright. |

In all honesty, I don't think you can tell a Div. 1 football player to blow a game. Those guys work way too hard to step aside for a monetary issue. If Boise State deserves the 1.1 million, they will beat Nevada.

Yeah the first couple drives make me root for USC again. I stil llike Florida the most, but if USC get in I won't complain. They really have created a sweet atmosphere in LA.

I had never even really heard of South Florida until this year, but they seem like a pretty cool team. I'd like to see them become a player in the Big East. What does the Big East championship look like now? Is it Rutgers?

Yeah Clearly USC is a class above Mich St.
But still ND had so many chances to keep it close or go a head. Still USC is the better team by far. |

So even with the win over UCLA that could happen next Saturday, do you still reward the Trojans. Or do you give Michigan their rematch? I'm a huge Michigan fan but I said USC had to blow Notre Dame out (which they did) and they have to beat UCLA.
It's gonna be interesting to see what the BCS rankings are today. I do not feel though, that USC will be above Michigan yet. |

I don't get why Florida is out of the question (at least in minds like Splaya's).
Auburn > Oregon State, and Mighigan already had their chance and blew it. |

Norte Dame is so overrated, 2nd time they played a top level team and they were never really a threat to win.

I'm sorry, but this is BS. USC should NOT be ahead of Michigan in the BCS. How does USC lose to an unranked team (Oregon state) yet still get ranked higher than Michigan. Meanwhile, Michigan loses to the best team in the country in a game that they were competitive in. You can make the argument that USC won more games against ranked opponents but in my opinion that loss to Oregon State hurt them.
It seems that very few people want the rematch, and I agree. But the rematch features the 2 best teams in the country. in my opinion, USC doesn't belong anywhere near a championship game. |

I never thought Michigan was any better than USC or Florida, the only difference was that they played a schedule that allowed them to remain undefeated the longest. Florida is the second best team, in my opinion, and I would like to see them have a shot.

Michigan beat Wisconsin and ND, two top 10 BSC teams. I dunno their schedule really wasn't THAT easy. I am getting kind of tired of all the SEC stuff, yeah the SEC is harder but its not like the other conferences out there are cake walks or something. Its not like Michigan played in the WAC or something, they played in the Big Ten with their only loss coming to the #1 team in the nation.
USC, Michigan and Florida all have legitimate claims at the #2 spot, but only one of them will get it. Way to go BCS |

If that is in reference to me, I don't think Florida should get a shot just because they are in the SEC. I just think that Florida, USC and Michigan are all a toss up. I personally think USC is the worst of the three, and I just don't care to see a rematch. This is just so stupid.

Florida screwed themselves over by not only scheduling a 1-AA team at the end of the year, but a terrible 1-AA team as well.
USC beat FOUR teams in the BCS 25. And whoever said they should be punished because they lost to Oregon State should look at the BCS standings too because the Beavers are on it. |

Do you really think Florida is better then USC? I don't know man, they've struggled the last few weeks and those impressive games againest teams like Alabama, Georgia, FSU and Auburn don't look so impressive now. I think people forget that USC dropped 50 points on Arkansas, I don't want to hear it about Arkansas's tailback not being 100% USC didn't even have a returning tailback (Loss of Bush and White?) or a quaterback (BCWWF, you didn't even know who their QB was after he dropped 50 on Arkansas) Personally I fucking hate USC, but I think its either them or Michigan.

USC struggled against team's much worse than Bama, Georgia, FSU and Auburn though. And to say that USC beating Arkansas was a big game is a huge overstatement. Arkansas wasn't even on the map at that point, and had a bunch of injuries. I just picked Florida at the beginning, and I still like them. I don't think they will get it though, at this point I would be shocked if ti wasn't USC.

Had a bunch of injuries? A lot of people say they have the best 1-2 combo in the nation and their injuried tailback still had almost 60 yards rushing in the game
![]() If anyone should be bitching though, it should be Oklahoma, especially if Oklahoma wins the Big 12 Championship. |

Yeah when the Oregon thing happened, I thought it didn't matter because I expected the Sooners to have maybe a 9-3 record at best. They definitely did get screwed in the long run, although they clearly aren't on the level of USC, Michigan and Florida, IMO. Texas was the best team in the Big 12 and they blew it because of injuries late in the season. Especially without Adrian Peterson, I don't think Oklahoma is even top 5 in the nation, despite their record.

Yeah if they handle their biz they will still get a BCS bowl, but you never know if they went into the last week with only 1 loss who knows what people would be saying now.

Yeah, also sucks for OU because Texas definitely is going to be back next year. OU vs. Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl probably, not quite the natty champs.
