Tim Burton might be directing Ghostbusters 3. Since Bill Murray doesn't like playing Peter Venkman, they may get Johnny Depp to be his replacement.

I'm suprised he hasn't adapted more Lovecraft and Poe. I guess the more recognizable pop-culture remakes are more profitable.

I think Guielmero Del Toro is looking at Lovecraft. He's essentially the new, less distinct Tim Burton with a bit more range.

I didn't realise you were the only one I quoted. Weird.

Anyway, Burton probably doesn't want to be the next Stephen King.

Delo Toro also has a nice splash of Henson in him. Not too outlandish, when you consider Tim Burton captured a lot of childlike wonder in his movies, while still being dark and "off." That's why I thought he'd be so good for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And boy, was I wrong.

Otherwise, I'd probably be really pumped for a Burton-style Addams Family. Now I'm more praying he doesn't fuck it up.
