Yeah Kane going back to wearing a mask would be retarded, he's fine doing his promos in a red-lit room to creepy music. Let him ride out what's left of his character until the man retires.

Edge and the spear really annoys me now too, not only because it looks weak as shit these days. I know the counter-argument will be that moves like the attitude adjustment are also weak moves, but seriously Edge just looks like he's dragging someone to the mat, not obliterating them.

bowling last night had smackdown playing at the bar. my buddy pointed out something that made me laugh. it was at the part where "paul bearer" went flying down the stairs and kane ran after. he said "i love how we all know kane is supposed to be this big tough guy, yet running down the stairs he still has to use the hand rail" i lol'd and spilled my beer

I personally am not into this angle at all. I mean, some of it can be explained away. Kane is this mastermind that took out The Undertaker, yes, but that was a huge plan. He's been put on the spot and his emotions are clouding his better judgment. But that makes the poor guy seem sympathetic, more than anything.

I also like Edge and Kane's promo work. Edge is bizarrely good at playing a psychopath who enjoys torment and slipping in sarcastic remarks, as corny as they may be. And Kane's promo work has been top-notch recently. The dude deserves another ten World Title runs for how many years he's been able to keep a straight face with all the shit he's been asked to do.

But the list of things I don't like is much longer:

* I understand and appreciate the character continuity of Edge. He's not a nice guy, and he doesn't need to be. I also understand that Kane is a monster, and Paul Bearer is an asshole (more on that later), but he's a real dick. The only reason we could want to cheer him is if we're cheering the karma Kane and Paul Bearer are getting. But that is why the WWE can never be proper PG to me. Two wrongs don't make a right, Edge.

* I love (sarcastic) the way Paul Bearer gets an opportunity to talk with his fate in the hands of the fans, and he tells them all that he hates them and that they don't deserve to have fathers. Wow. Smart movie, Paulie. It's also annoying that they did played a recap video of the storyline, and deliberately positioning him saying these things at moments where Edge looks like a dick so we are reminded Paul is the heel. Well, maybe instead of needing to remind us, a storyline where Edge wasn't such a dick would have been better?

* Edge has had Paul way too long. It's just dragging. Edge got his match, and I guess he wants his psychological advantage, but it's just awkard. That's more a complaint with the entire angle than a specific aspect.

* For a guy who really wants his father back, Kane sure takes things at a jog.

* It's almost comical that Edge has things set up so well.

* As someone else said, if someone attacked Edge and got Paul Bearer back, they could really earn their way into Kane's good graces. In fact, it would be a nice heel rub for a Tyler Reks, or someone like that.

* "KAAAAAAAANNNNEEEEEEE! I'M HERE, KAAAAAANNNNEEEE!" Your son is slow, Paul. You're better off just keeping your mouth shut and not giving Edge the satisfaction and stressing him out more. Edge hasn't killed you yet, and he's giving you nice clothes and obviously feeding you. Plus he obviously "needs" you for his master plan. You'll be fine.

There were so many ways to take an angle between Kane post-Undertaker annhilation and Edge and make it genuinely interesting on a human level. Kane believing that the WWE is now his and Edge wanting that tenth title reign more than anything. Writes itself, really. But the World Heavyweight Title has taken a backseat in this entire storyline (although it is the chief reason these guys are feuding), and it's developed this short-sighted approach. Edge, you can't keep Paul Bearer forever, and when Kane gets him back, he's going to want to kill you. This now can't end when you win the World Title.

The thing I am most interested in is how Kane gets Paul Bearer back. I'm expecting the WWE to do something shitty like actually kill Bearer off (again). But as mentioned, it'd be a great way to get a new heel over, and it'd be funny if Edge just gave the wheelchair to someone (like Chavo) as Kane was chasing him, and Chavo was all "Hey, what? Oh shit!" and then got pummeled by Kane. But it's something that is just spinning its wheels with no real pay-off, in my opinion.

Random possibility: Edge is brainwashing Paul Bearer behind the scenes, and at TLC, Bearer turns on Kane, and Edge becomes the Devil's Favourite Demon.

thank you kind sir! i try to be AWESOME!!! haha had to do it. just post it how i see it! its fun watching wwe and wrestling again through new eyes. i have been watching it for about 2 years steady now. when i was younger (95-2002) i was a freak about wrestling and loved it. but was a little younger and all that. so its fun to have seen it through two different sets of eyes now
