I don't see why Christian wouldn't win a world title this year. I mean hell, Kane did it last year, so why not Christian this year? SD doesn't have a ton of people on their show in the main event these days.

Edge-Won't be around too much longer. I give him 1 more year.
Del Rio-If he even remains on SD after the draft will be a shock to me.
Kane-More or less done. I give him until the end of the year before he hangs them up.
Taker-He's so limited anymore that another Taker title reign would be kind of pointless. He's more or less above the title. (Like Cena and HHH.) Taker will probably have maybe 5-6 matches on PPV this year at best.
Big Show-Is he even a main eventer anymore?
Rey Mysterio-Don't see him main eventing anytime soon.

Christian could easily fill that void on the blue brand, at least until we get some fresh blood up in the top ranks. Rhodes is clearly a shoe in to move up this year. Kofi, Swagger, and Barrett are all iffy. Sin Cara will obviously be main event when he debuts. Percy Watson may even make that jump to the top depending how over he gets upon his debut, but that remains to be seen.

Have you actually seen the match I was referring to?

An argument can easily be made that TNA's inring product its superior to WWE's. Maybe some of the match endings could be better/more clear cut, then again I did say "minus the finish".

But don't let any of that get in the way of your blind hate for TNA.

lol the finish is a pretty big part of the match. How many great WCW matches were ruined in the late 80's, early 90's because of the Dusty Finish.

Kinda missed the point there, huh?

I'm talking about the body of a Triple Threat Match. In WWE you get a series of one on one matches whilst the third man lies on the outside over-selling. TNA (and a lot of indies) actually involve all 3 men AT THE SAME TIME.

You probably wouldn't know that though as I'd guess you haven't watched the match in question. But once again, don't let that get in the way of making your point.

It makes sense though. If you can get a timeout on the floor while 2 guys beat the living shit out of each other, you'd take it.

Pretty obvious considering Del Rio 'put Christian out', and w/ all the history E&C have.

Edge v Del Rio seemed kind of lame to me for a Mania main event.

True. But by that logic none of the guys would wanna get in the ring at all.

But they COULD do a great match AND a great finish. That goes for both companies.

If TNA weren't so preoccupied with "keeping everyone strong" we'd see a few more clean finishes. And if WWE were less occupied with distancing themselves from the word "wrestling" and more occupied with the inring quality we'd get better matches.

Yeah, Eddie retained the title against Kurt Angle.

I'm all for this, actually. It just fits the story. Christian has heat with Del Rio and history with Edge. It'd also be huge for Christian. Man, the smark in me is already hoping that the match is filled with "Let's go Christian!" chants.

As far as the match quality goes, you'd have three of the best workers in the same ring at the same time. Not only that, but Edge and Christian know each other really well. Plus, given the style Del Rio works, I can see the Triple Threat being absolutely insane. Moves like the stack superplex making a comeback, etc. I rather enjoyed the Triple Threat Del Rio, Edge & Rey Mysterio had on SmackDown! last year.

It would actually make sense for the crafty and eager to prove himself Del Rio to be happy Christian was added to the match, though. He gets to beat former seven-time Tag Team Champions in the main event of WrestleMania, and the Triple Threat allows for Brodus Clay to become legally involved.

I'd mark out for a surprise Snoop Dogg run-in, too.

Yeah, I fucked that up. For some reason, I always thought Angle was the champ going into that match. Might be because I was infrequently watching at the time. Worse, I even SAW that PPV. I'm so ashamed.

Honestly they should've built this into Del Rio vs Edge vs Christian vs Mystero in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination, and should've planned it out months ago.

Del Rio and Mysterio had a long term feud going, Edge and Christian have a long history together, Del Rio wants Edge's World Title, Christian wants to be respected as a main event player on Smackdown - BAM, fatal 4-way. It's not like the thing is going to main event at WM27 either way.

Mysterio does not need to be in this match at all. Del Rio won that feud and moved on. Del Rio started feuding with Rey in August to have continued it until Mania would have been excessive.

Plus they're doing some good work with the Rey/Cody story

I agree that the Rey/Cody program has been awesome, but you very easily could have done this after WrestleMania. I do think that Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian vs. Rey Mysterio would have worked out rather nicely, though. Del Rio would be in the ring with his biggest rivals and the World Heavyweight Champion. Edge & Christian of course have history, as do Edge & Rey Mysterio.

Cody could have been put in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and really shone there. Hell, perhaps he could have won?
