Orton vs Cena at Bragging Rights 1 in the Iron Man Match was one of the best matches WWE has produced in years. And it involved Cena (who I don't care for much) and Orton (who typically bores me on PPV).

I'll kind of miss this PPV I dug the concept...Just hated the placement right around Survivor Series time and also the fact that brands don't matter anymore...until Bragging Rights.

2007 (the first year they used the NoC name): Champions were 7-1. Candice Michelle beat Melina in the only title change that night (Johnny Nitro beat CM Punk for the vacant ECW title.)

2008: Champions were 5.5-2.5. Kane lost the ECW belt to Mark Henry in a triple threat that included Big Show, Kofi beat Jericho for the IC belt, and Cody Rhodes jettisoned Hardcore Holly in favor of Ted DiBiase for the World Tag titles.

2009: Champions were 5-3. Christian beat Tommy Dreamer for the ECW belt, Mickie James beat Maryse for the Women's belt, and Jeff Harvey beat CM Punk for the WHC.

2010: Champions were 3-4. Daniel Bryan beat The Miz for the US title, Melina lost to McTaker in a unification match, Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre won a Tag Team Turmoil match while not facing the previous champs (Hart Dynasty), and Orton won a Six-Pack challenge for the WWE Championship. Also, in the only aired non-title match in NoC history, Big Show beat CM Punk.

So overall, the reigning title-holder was 20.5-10.5 (19.5-6.5 if you just want to talk about one on one non-unification matches).

Was the NoC just at the wrong point in the schedule for decent feuds to have been built that title changes would have an impact, or was it just set up to hype the people who HAD the belts?
20.5-10.5!

I don't think a champ retaining is a bad thing? And 1/2 of the time the title did change hands.sooooooo? whats the beef? That's a pretty high number ?

Full of questions.

Uprising sounds pretty ghey if you ask me at least Bragging Rights had a purpose whereas this sounds more like a PPV that showcases newbies which I can't see happening that's nXt is for.

OK, so maybe the numbers aren't as skewed as I thought they were - I just remember ALWAYS feeling disappointed after NOC and felt that there were always multiple opportunities to actually DO something with SOMEBODY each year, but the writers just said "Nah, we're good."

Clearly this music will play the Raw before the PPV, and Goldberg, Paul Heyman, Austin, (insert your favourite ex-wrestler here) will come in.

Looks like Uprising is scrapped and they're going with Vengeance.

From PWInsider:

According to the official AT & T Center website, the WWE pay-per-view on October 23rd, 2011 has been renamed again, with the new name being "Vengeance". The event was originally called "Bragging Rights" and "Uprising". WWE has used the name "Vengeance" for pay-per-views in the past.

Would have made sense just to do Vengeance as the NOC replacement, since NOC replaced Vengeance.

I was getting into the name "Uprising." You know, in 2009 when they did the "Breakout Battle Royal" which Sheamus won to earn a title shot - I actually thought that could be a pretty sweet PPV concept. Have an event where all the challengers for championships have never held them before.

I like the Night Of Champions concept. All the titles up for grabs, in what should be strong matches of exceptional calibre. The PPV has the potential to be one of WWE's strongest, and yet, as parkmania said, it ends off like a McDonald's burger - it's alright, but it never hits the spot.
