Fat Princess was an awesome PSN game until DLC ruined it. Download the demo though is you have a PS3.

Take it with a grain of salt but its from the same sources that leaked all the stuff in the beta. Apparently some of the stuff Sony and developers were revealing as features are being taken out with the sole purpose of to charge later as DLC.

Also a decent amount of characters are being rumored or stored away for DLC purposes with Crash being rumored as DLC only.

More leaks this time from Sony themselves which confirms a few new characters and stuff from the leaked beta being true. Sackboy, Nariko from Heavenly Sword, Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Jin Kazama from Tekken are now confirmed.

The roster is rumored to be having about 3 Tekken characters with 2 already leaked or confirmed so far.

Supposedly there are screen shots of Crash Bandicoot in the game but everything still seems to lean on him being DLC although it might be the "on the disc" type.

Well this is the icing of the cake tbh, lots of other games but never really felt it justified it. With Jak and Daxter collection. Ratchet and Clank (which I never played), Uncharted, MGS4 and the other exclusives.
Considering I was so pumped for the PS3 close to launch i'm suprised I havent got one.
Only got a 360 because PS3 got delayed. Thought Halo is the best thing.

Game has been delayed for about a month for North America with now November 20 release date. No news on if the delay will also impact Europe.

No official reason for the delay but developers SuperBot are going to use the extra month to polish the game.

Crash Bandicoot being it in has some conflicting rumors since most point to a Twitter conversation Activision had with fans as confirmation while a few state it was later debunked. The problem is both sets of tweets were deleted quickly although SuperBot will be making an announcement soon regarding Crash's status.

If anyone in Europe with a PS3 is interested, public beta registration has opened up recently with the beta itself lasting from September 11 to September 18.

Nariko from Heavenly Sword was confirmed from the earlier beta leak to be in the game along with Dan from the MediEvil series. Both were leaked by the way of debut trailers from Gamespot before being forced to be pulled down.

Yeup. Also made a mistake and didn't realize the offer is for European residents only.

Sometimes they have worldwide ones but this one is being restricted to just Europe from some other sites I've just read recently.

A few new updates and details was recently revealed and its mostly bad when you think about fighters in general.

* No hidden or unlockable characters at all since the roster you get at the start is the game's entire roster. Only way to get new characters is to buy DLC packs.

* No chance at Crash Bandicoot appearing the game at all since Activision refused. Its been teased Activison is working on a new Crash game.

* Story mode is somewhat half-assed since its just arcade mode again but this time with a few cutscenes that don't really create an actual storyline. Its basically there so that they can say they have extra playable modes besides arcade mode.

They do when one of the charms about fighters or at least party fighters is being able to find hidden/unlockable characters. To be fair though everyone was assuming just a couple would be tucked away and the developers constantly stated the roster was going to be small even with DLC.

Story mode seems a bit redundant considering they could have just put the cutscenes into arcade mode or at least flesh it out more like other games that separate a story/campaign mode from arcade mode.

That charm died with this current hacked disc/leak-happy culture toward fighting games. Say a few characters we know about were never meant to be revealed and they would be unlocked through gameplay; they would certainly be outted eventually and all we have is a wait for things we already know about. This is why many fighting games today have complete rosters unlocked off the bat, most people have no patience for grinding to unlock a potential main or old favorite.

And this is a game trying to be 'legit' with traditional fighting gamers so I imagine having the roster known and unlocked initially is another example of that.

The PS3 beta is only open to Playstation Plus members while the Vita beta is available to all Vita users.

Since this is on sale this week on PSN, I figured I'd ask if it's worth the 14 dollar asking price in the estimation of TPWW. Reviews have been...Less than helpful, and gameplay vids haven't really swayed me either way.

I'm already snagging Tom Raider and Unfinished Swan, and I'd probably grab Walking Dead if I didn't just get it as part of a bundle for teh Peesea

Well me and Khuntry went deep into why the game fails, so some points may not matter to you. And it really depends on how you feel about Smash Bros.

- Smash Bros is essentially King of the Hill, so a lot of the gameplay centers around building knock-back probability with 'in-field' combat moves and whatever. So it makes sense for rocketing knock backs, air recovery, edge strategies and whatnot. All-Stars, totally missing the point, retains the wild knock-back even though it is not a KotH game.
- On top of this, they have an honestly rich combo system that many characters require. Now... set aside that a combo system that extensive means nothing in a game where four guys are running around interrupting attack strings (an embarrassing design oversight), you have a combo system that runs contrary to the 'Smash' knock-back mechanic (again for a ring-out system not necessary to All-Stars).
- So in cases of severe knock-back, what does it mean for Dante to be able to switch cancel his moves? What possible use is a combo system in a party fighter pretending to be a legit fighter? I watched a lot of vids, it's a technical mess of mismashed ideals.
- The main point of the combat is to nail your supermoves after building meter. Had they scaled down the Smash influences (regarding KotH), they actually would have had a compelling meta-game.
- Imitation is flattery but you have to know what the big boys were going for, and even more so if you aim to subvert their vision. Can't have it both ways.

Now you may not give a fuck about any of that, or perhaps it would be as glaring to you as it is to me - but then again it's on a cheap. And maybe you wouldn't mind just slapping people around with that dude from Monkey's Island.

PS: The interface is ugly.
