Paul London & Brian Kendrick - repackaged and pushed as faces. They're both funny dudes, let them be funny, let them fly and I think they'd go farrrr. Loads of options in the tag division at the minute too.

Carlito - repackaged a little, remember how stale he got? Or get him over by having him head a midcard stable of some sort.

Mordecai - WWE missed a boat here, Mordecai could have gotten very over, very quick. The spooky/creepy gimmicks almost always work. Plus Mordecai reminded me of Gangrel. This is always a good thing.

Jim Ross - as much as he used to mess up a lot of play-by-play, he was the voice of the WWF, a huge part in so many memorable moments.

Matt Striker & Tazz - I really want this commentary team to happen. If Tazz could get the freedom to say the ridiculous shit he says now on TNA, with Striker as the straight man, it would just be amazing.

Molly Holly - Is she still in wrestling shape? It would be great to see a Molly-Go-Round again.

Kurt Angle - He doesn't really need a reason listed.

Kaitlyn - I think she could be a legitimate female United States Champion. Really only her, Natalya, and Tamina could do that, and I don't see either of them winning the US Title. And it would just be a great moment to see her spear the hell out of a cocky Dean Ambrose.

1. Mike Knox- great big man worker, would fit in with Wyatt's
2. Elijah Burke- heard he's a dickhead, but loved his theme song and has good charisma
3. John Morrison- would be a great boost to the upper mid-card
4. Maryse- to give me an erection
5. Matt Morgan- can't believe he didn't get another shot. Much improved since his first run.

On a whole though, I'm a bit disappointed by the responses in this thread (although the title of this thread encouraged the responses obviously).

I don't like how the mass majority of people in this thread feel as though bringing *insert past-his-prime superstar* or *past superstar that never was really all that over* would be a good move on the WWE's part.

What really needs to change, is the bookers..........and backstage politics...........and letting the CURRENT fresh talent get over faster.

1. John Morrison
2. MVP
3. Shelton Benjamin (especially after watching him and MVP rip shit up during their time in Japan)

List shouldn't go past that. Two of the guys are vets and still young, and MVP is just amazing.

I love JoMo so fucking much...He was so goddam good in the ring. This match is one of my favorites to watch. Edge's face at the 19:22 mark tells you all you need to know about how great that match was.

John Morrison & Rob Van Dam vs. The Miz & Dolph Ziggler would actually make a fantastic WrestleMania tag team match. There's a lot of history between Morrison and The Miz, of course, but Morrison and Ziggler have also been opponents at WrestleMania before. The Miz and Rob Van Dam are both undefeated at WrestleMania -- so one streak will come to an end.

Sure. But if there are guys out there who are as good or better than the current guys too, why not bring them in? It's always a good move on WWE's part to bring in guys with talent.

That is certainly one way of looking at it, but my ultimate thought is this:

The WWE is all about ratings. The goal of the company should be to bring in long term ratings, and the way to create LONG TERM ratings (as opposed to a short term boner) is to create new stars. Period.

I'm not opposed to bringing in guys like Hogan, Angle, Jericho, New Age Outlaws, etc., as part-time workers that ultimately put over up-and-comers, but what I am SEVERELY opposed to is bringing back past-their-prime superstars such as Dave Batista on long term full-time contracts.

Even more than Batista - I am severely opposed to bringing in guys like Carlitto, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Masters, etc., that didn't draw much interest in 2005, and certainly wouldn't draw much interest now.

By having NEW people on TV, you have a chance of creating NEW potential stars that can potentially DRAW.

Going back in time to bring back guys from 2005 (that weren't all that 'over' in the first place) will keep the product stale.

The WWE have enough younger and fresher talent that they should be pushing. Get rid of backstage politics and all the other bullshit, and PUSH THESE GUYS. Looking for answers by bringing back guys from 2005 is a terrible long term strategy.

As long as they are being used to ultimately put over new talents (i.e. in the manner that guys like Goldust and the New Age Outlaws are), then I have no complaints whatsoever. Rock, Brock, and Jericho........I have zero complaints about them as well.

My issue is with guys like Dave Batista winning the Royal Rumble.

My issue is with the notion of bringing back guys like Jeff Hardy, Shelton Benjamin, etc., which potentially take away TV time from guys like Ziggler, Cesaro, Swagger, etc. Bringing back wrestlers that have already PEAKED, should not take away TV time from guys that still have untapped potential.

Mr Heyman, You seem to have taken the premise of this thread far more seriously than intended... It was more a 'Fantasy Booking' kind of deal I was going for..
I wasn't at all suggesting that Shelton Benjamin should be Champ next week, Or brought back for a Mania appearance..I was suggesting people I feel could offer something if brought in on a full-time, Long term basis.

I agree whole-heartedly that The WWE should be Booking new stars in a better light and in recent times I believe they have, Whether they have 'Upped their game' Just for the Road to Mania remains to be seen...

I was on the edge of my seat at The Shield/Wyatts segment on Raw this week and hope for more of the same. Just seen the Smackdown Results and Cesaro going over Orton can only be a good thing assuming it was somewhere close to clean.

However, I think in my suggestions barring maybe Kurt Angle, The others left not because they could draw but because of backstage politicking and poor booking on the WWE's part.

They didn't draw the same reason guys now don't draw. Lack of direction. Just because they were released at some point doesn't make them "past their prime stars". A lot of the guys mentioned could still just as easily be part of the future as the guys currently on the roster if handled correctly. John Morrison is not less valuable in the long term just because he was once released. He has as much if not more "untapped potential" than a guy like Jack Swagger who you could say has likely "peaked".

Agree with you on Morrison. No problems there.

My problem is with guys like Jeff Hardy and Shelton Benjamin, and it has to do with their age. Do we really want to be pushing guys in their late 30's as "the next generation of main-event talent?"

Like I said - I have no problem with guys like The Rock, Lesnar, Jericho, or even Angle fighting on a part-time basis, since they'd be used to put over the next generation. Outlaws and Goldust.........same thing.

The issue I have is bringing in older veteran talents and having them bury the newer guys.

Dave Batista for instance..................Why? Why is he a full-time main-eventer right now? It's not 2008 anymore.

I would give Jeff Hardy another shot, Heyman, if only because the merchandise he'd move would pad my pockets nicely for a while, and he can be used to make entertaining television and put new stars over. The same goes for Kurt Angle, because he's one of the best the WWE has ever had, and if he can still put on a great match, then it's worth having him around to work with guys who could meet him at that level and have a great showing. Angle vs. Bryan, for example, could be a huge dream match for the company to put forward.
