Don't see how Broken Matt Hardy compares to Ellsworth really. I don't have a problem with either but Broken Matt Hardy is a lot more creative than this storyline.

As for it being absurd, I mean you just had a man who looks like Tweety Bird in human form beat the world champion. You had James Ellsworth beat a man who has traveled the world, beaten the best in the business, and is supposed to be legit one of the best to ever step in the ring in AJ Styles. That is absurd. It's hilarious too, don't get me wrong. I mean I laughed so hard I nearly suffocated while watching it, but it's still completely bonkers and just plain stupid when you think about it. With DB or CM Punk at least you had this sense of believability because these were guys who had spent their whole lives traveling the world and perfecting their styles to prove the world wrong. With Ellsworth it's just some random dude who put on some tights and looks like he'd die just trying to go for a jog. |

Thank you, Wishbone. Broken Matt is worse, but this is unnecessary. All the excuses and justifications for it involve people saying that it's funny, or it's a device, or it's not to be taken too seriously. That's the sort of stuff Vince Russo used to say and probably still does.
As I've said either in here or in the SmackDown thread, this is emphasizing just how fucking golden AJ Styles is. BUT it doesn't need to be happening. You could have had Styles bloody up Ellsworth, mock his broken ass and refuse to beat him. Prior to the match have Ellsworth cut a promo saying that this is his dream and his only opportunity -- he doesn't want anyone to intervene on his behalf and he has signed a waiver saying he doesn't want the match stopped on a technicality. Styles beats the absolutely living piss out of him. Children shield their eyes. Styles eventually puts Ellsworth in the Calf-Crusher and he has to tap away his dreams. Styles then slaps Ellsworth on the back of the head and says "I thought you had heart, huh?" and goes to do more damage before Dean Ambrose hits the ring, without looking too sympathetic towards Ellsworth (who got what he asked for) and Styles cockily swags his way to the back as medics come out to check on Ellsworth. That would accomplish the build-up towards Styles vs. Ambrose without forcing the champion to drop falls. Maybe that's too serious for y'all? I don't know. But what I do know is that hearing that the World Champion has been losing to a jobber each week doesn't make me want to tune in. |

I've had more of a problem with Ambrose than I have anything Styles or Ellsworth has done. I mean Styles literally beat the shit out of Ellsworth the kadt two weeks and Ambrose is the one that gave him the wins. I was fine with the first one I think Styles should have won the second but a DQ is just as good. Abrose has been more heelesh than Styles recently though.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing Heel Ambrose before too long. Maybe post-Mania next year? I can see him chugging along and hovering around the main event as a body heading into Mania, but I can't see any major plans involving him.

I had a thought about James Ellsworth today. Since it doesn't matter if he beats the World Champion, at this point you might as well have him win the Royal Rumble. I mean, what will it hurt? You have two guys fighting near the ropes (maybe Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose) so that Ellsworth can go out and dump them out last.
I mean, people want to see him beat AJ Styles more than John Cena or Dean Ambrose right? Why not let Ellsworth win the Rumble, but you know, not too strongly so nobody gets hurt, of course, and main event WrestleMania? Since there are two World Titles you don't need to have him close the show. Give him a special entrance at Mania -- it will be hilarious. It will be a lot of the other guys eliminated each other from the Rumble, so it's not like he actually has to beat them. No one gets hurt. Everybody also says they want a really surprising Royal Rumble winner. No one would be more surprising than The Chinless Dream. And they've built it up so well. WrestleMania is going to sell out anyway, so there will be plenty of people to pick up their ironic James Ellsworth t-shirts. I bet you they could be The New Day of this year's WrestleMania. I mean, what's the harm, right? He can beat the champion, that much has been proven. Why not milk it for the emotional drama of whether or not he can do it at the biggest stage possible? |

But who is going to be their babyface? Randy Orton? It seems odd he'd stand up for Ellsworth. Cena? He's away. It really feels like SmackDown is spinning its wheels.

So you're gonna laugh when this guy who had no business even in the idies is making good money and wrestling under contract for the WWE? I'm failing to see how him ending up on Superstars is such a bad thing. The dude still would have made an astronomical jump in his career that most guys only dream of. You're a really silly person.

Honestly Ambrose should have stayed on RAW and been the one in the position Seth Rollins is in now IMO. If you're gonna try to play him off as Stone Cold lite then he needs a Mr. McMahon lite to bounce off of. Having him be buddy-buddy with the authority figures of his show just ruins it. |

He does well with the WWE scripted style promo. As well as anybody could. He survives what they give him. But I honestly think he's more valuable being put back with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as The Shield again. It might seem like a step backwards, but they meant so much more when they were beating up The Rock and The Undertaker. Now they're all showing the holes in their game. |

I guess you could always turn them heel, but what kind of motivation is there to do that? Ambrose you could always write pretty easily. I mean he is supposed to be a lunatic after all so anything could make him "snap," but what about Rollins and Reigns? Reigns I guess could go the "the fans hate me so fuck 'em" route (though that'd be a little late to the game IMO,) but Rollins literally just turned after a really long buildup. I just don't see a heel SHIELD working at the moment. Honestly I think WWE just wrote themselves into a corner at this point. There's really not many ways to right the ship without a full-on reshuffling of everything which would be really tough to pull off. |

If Ellsworth gets a contract but Kenny and Mikey don't, then there's something seriously wrong at WWE HQ.

But if he does get a contract, I expect him to follow a similar route to Colin Delaney and just stick around for six months before being released as part of the WWE's annual spring cleaning.

A.j. styles can't be taken as a serious wrestler.
He came from a wrestling organisation where the owner was the champion for many yes he tried to be the new rick flair failed at that got bored with TNA went to Japan got bored there and decided to come to the wwe where his 1st ppv he loses to a midcard Chris " sparkiecrotch" Jericho. A.j. is just the newest toy for the wwe child to play with until they get bored with him and down he sinks into the midcard wasteland. |

Can they please re-hire Johnny and have The Spirit Squad become a serious heel threat. Man, them vs. The New Day would actually be really cool. Johnny and Kofi even have the same finishers.

Might be a bit hard since he works for an accounting firm now.
https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnny-jeter-687b3467 Jeter mentioned in an interview he didn't want to interrupt his current work and doubt the WWE would be willing to spend the money needed to pry him away considering his low star power. All the people the WWE brought back for the new Brand Split were for really cheap amounts based on stories from others who rejected offers. |
