Anyway... yeah, the problem w/ more divisions is it can help a weaker team make the playoffs, on the otherhand... we had that before and better teams still missed a wildcard.

No matter what, some team will still find a reason to bitch.

Seriously though. I'm calling it... The Bears will be this year's Panthers in that nobody is even discussing the possibility of a good season for them but they will suprise people. Also, I'm predicting they will get 1 win over Green Bay this year.

The Jets too will be a suprise team. They'll fight with New England for the division lead all year before winning out in the end.

I have spoken.

The Bears don't even have any "up and comers" like the Panthers had.

The Bears don't have any WRs, and they have an "ok" HB and an "almost OK" QB, which could work if they had a dominant defense.

They got Ogunleye, who was on a team with two shut-down corners, one of the best LB in the game, and the best DE in the game. He will be good, but will he be good playing opposite........................ who? Haynes?

And they got rid of all of their depth. They have no depth, they have no Bryan Robinson, they have no depth at corner, they have ONE safety, they have ONE linebacker, and a rookie DT who is looking "pretty good," but how would you reckon he is the next Kris Jenkins?

ANd Michael Haynes, next Peppers?

They don't even have the talent to be the "next Panthers." Panthers had two good WRs, the Bears have none. The Panthers had a prettttttty good line and an awesome HB. The Bears have an OK line and a guy who sucked on the Cardinals.

I don't know, I want to laugh, but I'm afraid that I'll end up eating my words and the Bears will somehow get a lucky season like 01.

Yeah, I see where you're going. I'm basing this pediction on a few things.

I predicted last year that Chicago would win @ Seattle and @ Green Bay (The posts are lurking somewhere on the old boards.) The Seattle game, they took the lead late in the game and then blew it. The Green Bay game they jumped out early 14-0 and then blew it. They just couldn't finish games. The way they were able to go in and not be intimidated and play like the favorite was impressive... It was a start atleast.

Defensively last year, they weren't special but they were't bad either. I think they have some decent players who are capable of having a good year. Offensively, I can see Justin Gage becoming a big play reciever. Also, I've been saying for weeks now that Thomas Jones will have a huge season.

But above all else... Lovie Smith is gonna be a GREAT head coach.

Simply put, the Vikings had one of the best offenses in the league last year without Michael Bennett most of the year and with no true second reciever.

There is no way that the Packers will finish any closer than two games behind us.

Out already amazing offense adds Bennett the whole year, Marcus Robinson as the first true second reciever since Cris Carter left, a new tight end in Wiggins, not to mention huge depth at both running back (Onterrio Smith, Moe Williams, Jimmy Kliensasser) and Wide Reciever (Nate Burleson, Kelly Campbell, Keenan Howry). So now our offense is better than it has been since probably 98 or 01.

Then look at the more important part, the defense. The Vikings have always relied on outscoring opponents and living with a shitty defense. That won't be the case this year. Our D-Line has an amazing rookie in Keneche Udezi who has been real good preseason and second year Kevin Williams who had 8 sacks I think last year. Bring back Hovan who will be at a better weight this season and Kenny Mixon is no stiff. Out defensive line is on its way to being one of the top in the league.

Then our secondary. Corey Chavous is already a great safety, he had plenty of interceptions last year and is one of the smartest backs in the league. Brian Russell isn't amazing, but he still had over six interceptions last year, Brian Williams is above average, had a real big game last year against the Lions. Then you add in Antoine Winfield, the first real shut down corner the Vikings have had in years and an extremely hard hitter.

The Packers didn't win the Division last year and they know that. They didn't deserve to win based on their play and their record, but the Vikings handed it over by how unbelievably bad they played in the end of the season. It was pure luck for the Packers that they got in the playoffs and they didn't belong. Just because Brett Favre says that he is determined doesn't mean they are going to be amazing, nothing against him he is one of the best qb's of my time, but he is old and doesn't have a dominant offense or defense on his side. The Packers won't be a bad team, but they are not on the same level as the Vikings anymore, and its going to shock you when the Vikings come out strong. As of right now they are in a legitimate position to get a first round bye, fuck the Eagles.

Its even more rediculous the third place finishes behind the DETROIT LIONS! The Lions have a young core, but thats all they have. Harrington is not yet good enough and who knows how good Roy Williams is going to be, but the fact remains that they don't have the personnel to compete with the Vikings or Packers. They will be lucky to finish with a 500 record.

And don't worry, I'm prepared for people calling me a hometown biased fan, but the fact remains that besides Alphabean nobody has as much access to Minnesota media. Just like CNM knows more about the Colorado teams than anybody else, my daily newspapers and newscasts cover both the Vikings and the Packers quite equally, so I know my bit. Suck me, I'm right.

I'm not going crazy here, I'm not going to predict Super Bowl Champions, but I will be surprised if we don't end up in the NFC Championship.

My god... you've become an Eagles fan. Exxagerating the "depth" @ WR and RB a tad bit, aren't you? The Vikings are more talented than Detroit and Chicago. As we've seen in the NFL in recent years, that doesn't mean they will finish ahead of them. Putting them in last place may have been a bit much... I may go third. You just know that like every year, there are gonna be about 10 spots in the division standings that make you say "Jeez, I would have never expected that at the begining of the year."

Also, I bet your local media didn't didn't tell you after starting 6-0 that you would STILL miss the playoffs. That's how much "expectations" mean.

NE is gonna run the table.

The jets don't stand a snowballs chance in hell

All they needed was a running game and they added Corey Fuckin Dillon.

they are impossible to beat at home, and their d is top notch

As we've seen in the NFL in recent years, that doesn't mean they will finish ahead of them. Putting them in last place may have been a bit much... I may go third. You just know that like every year, there are gonna be about 10 spots in the division standings that make you say "Jeez, I would have never expected that at the begining of the year."

Also, I bet your local media didn't didn't tell you after starting 6-0 that you would STILL miss the playoffs. That's how much "expectations" mean.
You stupid fuck. The fact that we have the most dangerous (Arguably the best, but there are none more athletic or explosive than Moss) WR in the league, that increases our depth ten-fold. You can single-coverage every receiver in the NFC North besides Randy Moss. That will leave someone open on every play, now THAT is depth. Nate Burleson, I have watched his play, and while he doesn't have great speed, he's an amazing possession receiver, and Marcus Robinson, if he stays healthy, will be able to dominate a #2 CB 1-on-1.

Kelly Campbell is not the most reliable receiver, but what the hell? He's #4 on our depth chart! That means he will be lined up on rookies, and aging veterans. I mean, the Ravens don't even HAVE a #4 receiver, so he'd be lined up on a safety, which would leave the wideouts open most likely, and he has the deep speed to beat out many #1 CBs! If you let him get behind you, you better pray he short-arms it (which he tends to do).

I'm not saying our receivers are the best, I'm saying that they're good, and put them next to Randy Moss, we have amazing depth. For Moss alone.

As for HB... COME ON! Bennett was a pro bowler before his broken foot, and he's regained his speed (world-class, he could have qualified for the olympic sprinting team), and worked on his conditioning, so if HE stays healthy, he has the ability to, well, destroy opposing teams. Moe in the preseason IMO has looked old, but behind our monstrous line, who knows what he's capable of? Last season he dominated early due to Bennett's injury, and Onterrio Smith came in late and dominated in the stretch. He's going to be out 4 games, and he's looked VERY distracted, but he could start on another team, but he's THIRD STRING. And Mewelde Moore, BCWWF forgot to mention him. He could probably start eventually on another team as well. He's an amazing back, with the best hands in the draft, and the only reason he fell to the 4th round was his size. He can ball. I saw him play, he's our FOURTH. Nobody will exaggerate the depth of the Vikings halfbacks... it's impossible. Our corps is the best in the league, hands down.

Buffalo Bills: Henry and McGahee, pretty good. Dunno what comes after that. My favorite 1-2 punch though.

Dolphins:

Patriots: Dillon is a stud. Faulk is all right. Um, there you go.

Jets: Curtis Martin JUST WILL NOT DIE. Lamont Jordan is supposed to be good. Dunno. nice 1-2 punch.

Cowboys: lol

Giants: THUNDER AND LIGHTNING. I hate Barber, but he's good so whatever. Nice 1-2 punch. Ends there.

Eagles: lol. Poor Iggles halfbacks. At least Thomas Tapeh is getting reps at tailback. He's a stud.

Redskins: Portis, Betts? Cartwright? Nah.

Ravens: Musa Smith? Chester Taylor? Jamal has no backups.

Bengals: Rudi Johnson and Chris Perry. Two all-right backs. Nice depth, but no pro bowlers there IMO

Browns: 3 quality backups on one team. Amazing.

Steelers: It's like Wheatley and Garner all over again.

Bears: Two excellent backups.

Lions: We'll see how good their starter is. But as of right now, I can say their running game is still shit.

Packers: Nice threesome. Ahman Green is a pro bowler, Najeh Davenport could start (since he's a fullback), and Tony Fisher, well, he has earned his money as a third-stringer. They are up there, but Moe Williams never shit in anyone's closet.

Texans: Davis and Hollings? Ok.

Colts: RICKY WILLIAMS! Dunno, dude. They have that one backup, forget his name, and Mungro, and Edge. Not too deep, but they're not in danger either.

Jags: Fred and a rookie. Dunno.

Titans: Chris Brown might be a great back in the league... but he is being promoted from backup, so what's that leave?

Falcons: Shit, they might have the most depth! Dunn, Duckett, and Vick. Since Vick is just a HB who can throw the ball far. But he's no QB as preseason has proven.

Panthers: The most-hyped 1-2 punch in the league. I won't argue that. Vikings go 4-deep though. Plus Larry Ned! Who would probably make #2 on a shallow team like Philly.

Saints: Kijana Carter. lol. Stud back, but Kijana Carter, man!

Bucs: Uh shit, they have depth, but I question the quality of their old-ass backfield. And Pittman blows.

Broncos: I guess you could say that as long as the Broncos have 4 HBs on their roster, they have 4 potential 1,000 yard rushers, right? Well Hearst is okay but like 40, Griffin is "the second coming of Barry" lol. They're okay for now. Or are they? I guess that remains to be seen.

Chiefs: Priest and LJ. Cool. I hear bad things about LJ though

Raiders: Who do they even have? I think they have depth, but quality depth? Wheatley is their starter, so the answer is "no."

Chargers: I think the team signed Ryan Leaf to be the backup HB to LT this season. LOLZ

Cardinals: LOLZ

Rams: They have three gre... They have a great, old and injury-prone star, and a rooookie with potential. I'd say that's a good 1-2 punch. Lamar Gordon, though. Tsk.

49ers: LOLZ. I don't even buy Kevan Barlow as a legitimate HB.

Seahawks: Who comes after Alexander? That's right, his sister. He knows how to Git-r-Dun. I don't even know who the backup is out there, sooooo...

There you have it. Packers are close, Broncos are close, but nobody is as deep as Minnesota.

Since I'm sure you want to make some comment about how we make baseless claims.

You had Moss last year... how does having him this year "increase" the depth you moron? Damn, you people are starting to do the same for the Vikes that others do for Philly. I didn't hate Philly until I heard their fans during this choke streak they're on. Now, like the Eagle's fans, you're going the way of getting incredibly pissed when someone doesn't pick them to have a good year. It's basically like saying "I know there's a good chance we'll end up choking again. So since I can't brag at the end of the year, I'll do all my bragging now before they have played a single game." Like you are trying to convice yourself of how good they are rather than other people.

Anyways, Green Bay's depth @ RB is better than Minnesota's. There's just no question about it.

Answer:
1. NFL cracking down on defensive contact with wide recievers

2. Marcus Robinson is first true second wide reciever since Cris Carter

3. Full health, physically and mentally

That my friend, is how Randy Moss is better this year than last year, and I could go on.

My NFC East Predictions:
Eagles-12-4
Redskins-10-6
Dallas-9-7
Giants-4-12

Now The Eagles finally have a team that they can take to the Superbowl. With the additions with 4 new defensive players (Kearse, Trotter, D. Jones, Douglas) that will help the run defense tremendously. The shakiest part of their offense is NOT Donovans throwing accuracy it is the running back situation. With Duce gone, Buckhalter out for the season it just leaves little Brian Westbrooke. Now he was tremendous last year untill he got injured, but they had Duce and Buckhalter right behind him. But with those two gone it is going to be tough to fill those spots. The y brought in Dorsey Levens and cut him a week later, and 2nd year running back Reno Mahi can't cut it what so ever. But the Eagles will easily be led by Donovan and their NOW tremendous recievers (besides pinkston) and 2nd year TE LJ Smith turning out to be something great, the Bird will dominate once again.. AND MARK MY WORDS if they do not win the NFC CHampionship this year.. I WILL HAVE A SEX CHANGE!!!!!!

They had the Defense that year, they have never had an offense close to what they have this year. They could not score that game and when Joe Jerivicious had that one reception it killed them, they finally have everything they need to make it just wait and see..... Just Wait MUahahahahaha
