That was amazing!!!!!!!!!
Also, the theater was much bigger than I was expecting. I was cheering for Hogan for the first time since I was a kid. Piper is the man though. He was great beyond words tonight. And despite all the bad things people have said about Flair recently, seeing how much he genuinely enjoyed being there was awesome. I didn't mind Stallone inducting Hogan. They are good friends, let him do it. I didn't hear people booing John Elway's daughter when she inducted her dad into the Pro Football Hall of Fame because she "didn't have anything to do with football." You can say there is a difference between family and friends but who cares. It was Hogan's moment. On a side note, the thing I love most about things like these are just seeing the guys be themselves. Like seeing JBL and Triple H and Kurt Angle smiling and applauding guys like Hogan and Piper and such was cool to watch. |

Thank You Hogan, but if you were not there, Thank you Savage. The elbowdrop is so much cooler than the leg drop. What about thank you Piper? Awesome mic skills, he was years ahead of his time. How come he didn't fued with Andre the Giant? And why was Hacksaw the first man to knock out Andre? Hogan did not make the buisness... Vince made it, with a little help from the fans. /puts on fire proff jacket, ready for flaming. |

You ever think it had something to do with mcmahon getting stallone to induct hogan? Wrestlemania goes hollywood and a big name hollywood actor at the hall of fame seems to fit the theme pretty well i woulda thought.

-- Randy Orton inducted his father, while also acknowledging his grandfather's presence in the crowd. Bob Orton offered little in the way of a speech.
-- Jim Ross inducted Nikolai Volkoff, who gave an emotional speech about having to represent the very country he was so eager to leave during his WWE run. -- Sgt. Slaughter inducted Iron Sheik, who gave a entertaining and, at times, incoherent speech that even got Gene Okerlund a bit frustrated. -- Bobby Heenan inducted Paul Orndoff, who was said to be gracious and bitter at the same time. He also gave a shout out to his kids, evidently not knowing that his speech would not air on the Spike TV telecast. -- Jerry Lawler inducted Jimmy Hart, who gave a solid speech with a lot of thank-yous, including credit to his megaphone. -- After Hogan's speech, his family took the stage and presented The Hulkster with a glass case of various memorabilia. |

my god. what is wrong with you? You have just defined the phrase "jumping to conclusions" very well. Thank you. Vince and Co. were the ones who got Stallone to induct Hogan because celebrities, at least one, usually always appear at these things. Spike TV only showed Hogan and Piper cause they only had an hour. Hogan = Ratings. Ratings = Money. You think many people watching that would of gave two shits to see Orton, Volkoff, Shiek, Orndorff or Hart speak? Hell no. Only real hardcore fans care about them. So why put them on? Put the guys people won't turn off on. Yea, I was the "person" who said Orndorff didn't stand because he was probably weak by then. He did have severe nerve damage and a neck injury a long time ago that still affects him to this day. His spine is in bad shape too. And I Never heard anything once that Orndorff has problems with Hogan. He and Hogan made a ton of money in 86 and he's said he's loved working with him. |

oh and I don't know how you call a guy "over-rated" when he basically made the most money in the history of the business, brought the mainstream to wrestling, brought in more fans then ever imagined, helped put Wrestlemania on the map, and basically made everyone else around him more money for him being there.

When people think of wrestling Hulk Hogan is the biggest name that comes to there mind. I dont think anyone including The Rock or Stone cold steve austin will be bigger than Hulk Hogan. Im also certain Hogan will come back for maybe a year. One final run and it wont be that Mr. America crap.

if anyone built hogan it was vince sr not vince jr, but then made the mistake to fire hogan after he did rocky3. vince sr did not want hogan doing that movie so hogan made it big despite the wwe not becouse.

I always fear when he gets these kinds of reactions.
Yes he deserves it, but the worst thing that can happen if for Vince and co to see that, and think "Hogan is the most over guy, we should push him again". We all seen how successful that was the last time. I do think they should use this to push one more match for Hogan (maybe next year at Mania) or even Summerslam this year. But dont go beyond that. I heard an Austin-Hogan chant, so maybe thats the way to go. Or maybe something like Austin and Hogan in a tag, say at Summerslam, and then that leads to some kind of tension, and a singles in Chicago next year. If Vince ever retires he should get a 1 hour standing ovatiuon, because he's done more for the business than everyone else combined. EVen though he can be a huge dumbass at times. |

Yea, Hogan/Austin has to be the match. That's really all I wanna see from those two.

Hulk Hogan was right for the character. Saying Vince could have "picked anyone" to play that role is a bit over the top IMHO, but Vince was smart enough to pick the right guy. Savage was right for the role he played, Hogan was right for the role he played.
There's no such thing as an "on his/her own" star. Terry Bollea was perfect for the role of The Hulkster, and Vince McMahon's WWE(F) was the perfect company to house that character. It came together and worked to an extent that doesn't happen very often, and both Vince and Hogan equally deserve the kind of reward Hogan was given last night. And about Hogan stalling and letting the fans go on and on: 1) Wrestlers thrive on fan reaction. Thats what its all about. 2) He didn't ask for it, but he got it. They didn't have to chant "Thank you Hogan", "Austin/Hogan" and "One more match" just because he was stalling for it. They could have forced him to talk by shutting up. The guy was in character and having fun with it, and the fans ate it up. It was great. |

I did notice Hogan hamming it up. And yeah, it says tons about his characters, just soaking up the ovation that got a bit tiring after it hit the 4 hour mark (exaggeration). He definitely deserves the HOF, but I can't attest to being a fan of Terry Bolea, the selfish, egotistical person.
Nevertheless, his contribution to the industry cannot be denied. I didn't quite get the HBO joke Piper made (I also had to do something at that moment). Care to elaborate? |

Piper was let go last time due to comments about drug use and other negative feelings about wrestling and his character on an HBO special.

I'm not going one way or the other on the Hogan situation.
On one hand, it WAS his night, he should have been able to handle it the way he wanted. On the other hand, you gotta get in there and force some time to thank some guys that were responsible in some way for the moment. |
