Maybe it's just me but even ID4 made way more sense than WotW. More entertaining, and it got the whole world involved, unlike WotW. I mean when Cruise' son wants to stay and watch the army in combat i was like WTF nobody in their right mind would wana stay and 'watch' a fuckin war. Also I didn't like the part where the alien is looking for Cruise n' company in the dismantled house, when there is like billions of other houses and people to kill. I'm not saying ID4 was a 5 star flawless movie, but i enjoyed it better than this one. |

If ever a time for Speilberg to hop on the 'Trilogy Train' it should have been now. Things ended much to abruptly, and happy even. Steven is known for endings like that, but c'mon...
Robbie survives what looked like a heavy bombardment; AND makes it to Boston before his dad?!? I can care less about how the sheilds went down, what is funny is this: How do these 'advanced' aliens, who's been planning this extermination for "A million years", come up with simply walking around dusting people and setting up Martian floura. And not even know that Earth isn't even a safe place to be in the first place. Speilberg directed the most ill-concieved alien attack in movie history. And yes I seen Martian's Attack. Still, putting myself in the movie, it was scary as Hell. And Tom "I'd kill for my daughter" Cruise did a good job. It's nice he's finally playing his age. |

The Aliens just up and dieing is how the original was wrote. It's not Speilberg's idea. He's re-hashing an old story.

Not a bad movie but agree what everyone else has said in here - the ending was shit. 7/10.

There is no way in hell that Robbie should have lived through that. NO WAY.
I could believe maybe Cruise and daughter making it to Boston alive. I could believe the family in Boston waiting for them. But I refuse to accept that emo boy made it out alive from that attack. It makes as much sense as a Chewbacca in a Johnnie Cochran testimony. |

I dunno. After reading the book a long time ago, I remember how much I liked that ending. I'm glad to see that it wasn't tampered with. I'd much rather take *SPOILERS for those who haven't seen/read it*
bacteria being responsible for the deaths of the aliens than something similar to the ending of Independence Day. I thought this was a great movie based off of a great book. The whole red vine thing creeped me out too. |

Lance Storm has a hillarious quick review of the film .
I may be in the minority on this but this movie SUCKED big time! I didn’t buy the concept at all, and it had the lamest finish, since David Arquette won the WCW World Title from his own partner in tag match by pinning someone else, and then celebrating that win with the guy who lost the title, who genuinely looked excited to have lost the World Title. I won’t go into more detail as I don’t want to ruin the movie before seeing it has a chance to on it’s own, but apart from special effects, this movie brings nothing to the table, in my opinion. I’d almost rather see Tom Cruise rant and rave about Scientology. Okay maybe the movie wasn’t that bad, but all in all I would have rather given my $10 to Brooke Shields, to buy anti depressants. http://www.stormwrestling.com/070605.html |

Read this elsewhere, but the kid could have survived if he'd just being taken by the aliens like Ray was.

i didnt get the ending. I mean i get how they died of disease, but i didnt really know until the narrator said it. I honestly assumed the birds were distracting them and the arm way shooting them down. Maybe i was just not understanding all to well.
The kid living was just plain stupid. In fact ( Not reading the book ) I think it could have easily just erased the kid from the movie. He served no purpous at all with the exception of being a whiney bitch. Dakota Fanning is just down right annoying. Tom Cruise was really good tho. |
