A guy I was with last night was upset that African-American businesses can say "African American Preferred" on help wanted signs, thats nearly as stupid as Buzzkill being upset that men can't play in the LPGA.

The problem with that is that it is discriminatory. Could you imagine a white businessman advertising "White candidate preferred"?

You can't correct discrimination with discrimination. There is a case here in Canada where a man is suing an "all womens gym" for discrimination. As "all men gyms" are discriminatory, shouldn't this also be a problem. What a fucked up planet we live in?

I'm not disagreeing with you BCWWF, I'm just pointing out some realities and logic problems we encounter when it comes to these types of situations.

The point is that a white guy has one billion more options then a black guy, and men have a billion more options then women. Why act like you are being discriminated against when you clearly aren't.

That's a generalization. Rich Black People and Rich women aren't discriminated against as much as the poor white trailer trash guy. Fat people are discrimated against more than slim people. Ugly people are discrimated against more than beautiful people.......

Your argument is so solid, Robby. You don't sound retarded at all. You're a big boy.
South American baseball? That's new on me. Outside of Cuba, the US and Japan, it's not popular. Who knows anything about Hockey in Russia? Actually, being that there isn't even a league going in the States right now, it's not even worth answering that. Wow! Spain and Serbia play Basketball? 2 whole countries!

Who sounds retarded again? Aside from your granny of course.

Annika already compteted and she got her ass kicked. Women as of late have been trying to even QUALIFY for the U.S Open and have failed. A women could not compete on the PGA Tour. Also, if you don't make the cut at tour events, you don't get shit.

Not realy. Especially in university where scholarships have to be divided equally. In the pro ranks yes, but that's because nobody wants to watch it

So...Trying to bring this back on topic...

Okay. Several of the tournies REFUSE women in the PGA. Remember, these are people who wouldn't let a cripple play because he couldn't walk to the various holes.

To this end, I have no problem with a "Women only" organisation, since there's already a "men only" organisation. Why cna't you adress a serious issue, like how they don't let non-alcoholics into AA meetings? That's some serious discrimination there.

Would you have the same objections if they were the same organisation, and different divisions? It's still technically discrimination, but everyone seems okay with it.

There is nothing written in the PGA that REFUSES women from participating. They have to qualify. Same goes for any man who wants to be on the tour. Exemptions have been given to women in the past (Sorenstam and Wie have played PGA events). The LPGA has gender written in its rules.

Regarding cripples, it has to do with the rules of the sport. I was hoping that they would make an exception for Casey Martin to play, but again as the rules state you have to walk the course it becomes a delicate issue. I'm pretty sure some fat dudes like John Daly would prefer to use a cart because it is easier. I guess they didn't want to open a crack they couldn't close. Personally I disagreed with it, but it's their sport....

Please don't make the assumption that I support these issues. I do not in many cases. They are just hurdles that get thrown in the way as the fly in the face of other practices in our society.

I don't know if you've looked around lately, but there are tours REFUSING women. Using past examples when the present indicates it's otherwise true is poor arguing. I mean, pay attention to the actual news, they were getting protested for this shit. When the PGA is saying bye bye to sponsors who wanted women on the show...

But it's not in the rules. I suppose that makes it okay.

You know, like racial profiling. It's not in the laws, it's an unofficial policy where practiced.

The protesting is referring to Augusta National which is a golf course and has nothing to do with the PGA tour. It states that only men can be members. Women can play the course, but can not be a member.

Rob, Russia has been a Hockey power forever. Every cold climate nation is a good Hockey nation, most everywhere.

Czech republic, slovakia, finland, sweden, poland, belarus, kazakstan, latvia, germany, france(although they suck)..

Yeah, I noticed the Russia comment too.

That being said, the NBA also has quite a large international influence. Besides Eastern Europe, basketball has expanded into Asia quite a bit now. I do believe that he made that comment to get a reaction though, so I should probably stop right about.......here.

Oh Robert, your ignorance is fantastic. I enjoy the way you try to pass it off as being too cool to care or above American sports though. Although I fail to see how mentioning that the rest of the world revolves around the US's hockey league backs up your point that no one cares about American sports.

It's ok bruv, you're usually behind the curve anyway.

Good point Alphabean.

Rob, there is no point coming into the thread acting like a troll. You've successfully made yourself look like an asshole when it was completely unecessary. Take your fucking shit elsewhere twat. Plus, you're a fool if you think people abroad don't give a shit about sports like Basketball or Hockey, they're in the Olympics you asshole. Obviously there is some international flavor there. The other sports such as Baseball and Football don't have such an international influence, you're right in that.

Don't come in here all nonchalant making comments like that because quite frankly the same could be said of the popular sports in your country. Fucking turd.
