And yeah on the second count. I have been drawn into this series but wouldn't watch another one probably. Might check it out but probs won't be so interested. It'll be even harder for cricket as they move to Sky.

It annoys me that any genuine achievement gets hyped out of all proportions so it actually loses its meaning. They won a series - but is it really deserving of a parade?

It's the media hype at the end of the day isn't it? It's been plastered all over the news and the papers and the coverage has been so intense that it's been made into something that it's not. What happens if they win the next Ashes series, are they going to have a parade then? Or if they lose? Is the whole of London going to throw rottern food at the team? It's ridiculous really.

Seriously though the Poms played well, they deserved to win the series. I guess after so long at the top we had to have a downer and lose one at some point, pity it had to be the Ashes. Ah well, only 18 months till we get it back.

The atmosphere at the 5th test (and really all the tests) was great. The English putting up umbrellas and the Aussies taking their tops off in response. The players coming out in sunglasses due to the "brightness".

I was at the parade yeterday in trafalgar square,the parade was not over the top though-moonax. We haven't won it for a long time, it was more relief than anything.But I don't expect too many people on this forum to understand the feeling.And how do you know none of those 'new cricket fans' will be around?Sure some wont, but I think some of them will.But maybe you cna predict the future or something, yeah that's it....

Actually Y2C, we've always been good at it, it's just the county game has always been poorly organized and has affected the chances of the international team. The central contracts(I think thats what they're called) have definately helped the fitness of our players, if it werent for them we would've given up after the Lords defeat.
