Ever stop to think? Probably not, but stop and try this: The promotion was shut down by the police. That's not usually what happens unless the police see something actually wrong occuring. This brings up a ton of questions which make your "Stupid PTA mom" attacks look pretty foolish.

I will explain everything to you guys, and hopefully you will understand the human race perhaps a little better...

Most people don't have the decency to just leave when they witness something that offends them. Instead of just packing up and leaving, most people will start to become self-righteous and want to pretend to have power. They want to dole out punishment to those they think merit it. Most people have this intense desire to be the type of authoritative figure that punishes people. So they'll call the cops on people for the stupidest things, especially if they have nothing to do with what's going on.

People love to butt in. And they love to pretend that they're doing others a favor by bringing others to "justice" when they themselves are offended. If Howard Stern offends you, for instance, the right thing would be to turn off the radio and listen to something else. The thing that most people under that circumstance would do, however, is to call up the cops, the FCC, and pray to God that something bad happens to Howard Stern. Beacuse if it offends them, then it must offend everybody else.

People tend to have the notion that their opinion is the right opinion, and that, obviously, everybody else must share that opinion too, since it's so right and all.

And that, my friends, is why the mother just didn't up and leave quietly, like she should have. That's why she called the cops and wasted taxpayers' money on a wrestling event of all things.

Ignoring the fact, of course, the police actually shut it down, endorsing the possibility that they did something wrong. I'm disappointed, man. I expected something a little less ignorant and bitchy out of you.

I'm sure, however, that unlike Sadistic, you were in the stands and heard the woman try and enforce "moral highground." That redeems your statements about her motives turned into ignorant generalisations and stereotypes.

I saw a "King of the Deathmatches" event advertised for IWA Midsouth, but it was a different time and location so that's out...

I've found nothing on the actual existence of Deep South, does anyone have any more information?

I don't know if anyone has said this, so allow me.

Remember recently where some poor Indy worker fucked up a suicide dive, cracked his head opened, and died? I do. It was an accident. Unfortunately, it happens.

What's going to happen when one of these fucktards tries to jumps off a balcony, fucks up, and kills himself. Or when someone gashes a major vein and bleeds to death? It's hard to say it's an accident when they are openly and purposely doing it to each other.

This shit is an accident waiting to happen. This accident, while an obvious waste of human life, will also be all the fuel someone needs to start a new campaign against wrestling. And for what? Because some fucktard didn't have the talent to actually wrestle.

And don't even get me started on the fact that this shit has become somewhat "accepted" and kids aspire to do this stupid shit now instead of actually wrestle.

I'm not really concerned with the loss of human life. Far as I'm concerned, it's a positive thing if the greatest thing these guys give us is their abscence in the gene pool. If someone wants to waste their life on this shit, who cares, but the damage it does to wrestling is undeniable, and the damge it could do to wrestling would be major.

What if:

1. They are breaking a law or laws?

2. Deceptive advertising did lead her to believe that it might not be garbage wrestling, didn't expect shattered glass to be flying into the audience, and thought that this constituted endangerment?

3. The cops were actually justified to shut them down? They did, after all, shut them down. Now I know all police are evil, just like all soccer moms want to censor the world, but is it possible in this one case they might have been in some way justified, meaning she was in the right to make a call?

For someone who hates garbage wrestling so much, you are going out of your way to pretend that there are no grounds to believe that this was in some way justified, while the fact that the cops didn't just leave would indicate a strong chance there was something going on. I don't get it. If this was some evil nazi censorship persecution PC soccer mom thing, why would they shut it down? Why not charge her with a nuissance call and leave? Oh, are the cops soccer moms too? Part of the tinfoil hat PC soccer mom nazi black helicopter conspiracy? Explain, man, instead of reiterating this asinine censorship crap, give us a tangible reason to believe that this was the sum total of the issue.

Honestly, I don't give a shit if Garbage wrestling goes on. I don't really care if they all go out and kill themselves and take all their moronic fans with them, it'd be like chlorine in the gene pool. However, Garbage wrestling crosses some lines that might not even be legal in a lot of places. Boxing is tightly regulated under certain purviews. UFC is similarly regulated. Pro wrestling is usually ignored under the notion that it is faked. Even then, there are restrictions in some states on pro wrestling in terms of precautions. And that's not even getting into the fun of people smashing each other with lightbulbs, that's the WWE. WCW. Or any mom and pop indie fed. This is a whole 'nother ballpark, and may have broken town, state or (unlikely) federal laws.

Or, she may be a nazi soccer mom, but we really don't know any of the context behind it.

And yeah, most states I've look at require permits, insurance (Or something similar), a certain number of emergency units (Usually in the form of paramedics), whatever.

Quite frankly, if they were doing anything that broke the law, they really shouldn't be doing it in the first place, so yeah (I agree with you) no tears shed over this bullshit.

Though if she knew what IWA entailed, and brought her kids, she needs to be shot. And if they advertised violence, barbed wire and death matches, she needs to be shot.

There are any number of reasons this could be legit, and the police certainly did shut it down for a reason (Though I doubt they got them on a technicality if they disregarded the woman as hysterical), but it could be something simple.

It'd be wise for garbage wrestlers especially to run these things by the book. A few promotions up here were shut down for shit like permits and safety code violations. The humiliation of being essentially shut down by the FIRE DEPARTMENT has to be brutal (I read about a case where the fire dept in like Orange Mass or somewhere near there were the ones who shut down a promotion's show...).

If you're going to be stupid, you deserve what you get. It's not a shame that this shit was shut down, because the ones closest to the line ought to be the ones careful not to jump over.

Ya know, if the promoter was hiding in the bushes, doesn't that tell you that the event itself was pretty damn shady? If he had all the paperwork and everything approve, why would he need to hide? If he was guilty of something, why would he hide? Couldn't he just address the authorities and show them whatever was needed to prove that they weren't doing anything criminal?

Well all I can say is that everyone has had some valid points in this argument, but what sticks out the most to me is that the person writing the article from the original post ADMITS he is biased against this kind of thing. So with him being biased, it's very likely that the article itself isn't entirely truthful, or at the very least, over-exaggerated.

I think calling the cops is a bit overboard, and agree that she should have just taken her kids and left. Do you think anyone calls the cops on the WWE when someone gets busted open, hit with a sledge hammer, thrown off the entrance ramp into electrical shit, or dropped off the top of a cage onto some thumbtacks? I seriously doubt it.

Actually it's very possible the show wasn't legal. Hence a possible reason the promoter was hiding in the fucking bushes outside of the venue. Every area has sanctions as far as how wrestling can be booked, some merely require padded mats surrounding the ring, others will not lot you use chair, and there is even one area which will not let you do a move off of the top rope *IE: superplex, moonsalts etc are fine*. It's very possible this promotion broke their sanctions, again the promotor was hiding in the fucking bushes.

Actually, there was a case where a kid called 999.

The difference between something which is mainstream wrestling, viewed as safe (Though the Hart family would argue) tends to run in the realm of "blatantly fake," or stuff people know to be fake. Hell, I've had people who don't watch wrestling ask me why wrestlers blade (not in those words, but still).

The plunge into electrical circuitry was a lovely light show, but the WWE obviously faked it, and even if they botched it, they have paramedics standing by. We don't even know if the lightbulbfest had paramedics, and that's obviously more "extreme."
