There's this canadian band called Out of your Mouth that does a rock cover of Madonna's "Music". Pretty good.

Also, anything from the Pink Floyd Symphonic Album.

Yup. It was originally done by a band called "Ednaswap."

The band also wrote songs done by Madonna and Sinead O'Connor.

as for covers that sound nothing like the original - anything by Richard Cheese. Lounge versions of Rape Me, Fight For Your Right and Guerilla Radio amongst others..
