I think he may have had at least one match with the red lights. I seem to remember him pinning someone, although I could be wrong.

When was his first match (after all the red shit)? Was it at WrestleMania vs. Taker?

His first match was at Survivor Series 97 against Mankind. I always forget to mention it, but that was one of my favorite angles of all time. I remember marking the fuck out when Mankind clocked him in the face with a steel pipe and Kane went down and out for the very 1st time. The whole angle was set up like this:

Kane was doing his thing where he would come down and destroy guys. Well one night he chokeslammed Dude Love on the steel ramp. So then we get a returning Manking (who had never played a babyface mind you) and he comes down to the ring with a pipe and nailed Kane as Kane was going to demolish Ahmed Johnson.

It was so well done cause here we have sick and twisted Mankind, who had been despised forever, sticking up for everyone in the back and challenging this new Monster. It was the perfect matchup.

Out of the ring and off TV he wore a ski mask in WWE public (outside the arena, etc). So, since THAT was kept in Kayfabe, he did take it off, he just wore a ski mask instead.

One of the best examples of no continuity happened with the rock and kane a few years back. The corperation got kane in the corner of the ring and held him down while patterson and brisco slid his mask up and took pictures of kanes face while acting disgusted and horrified at what they were seeing. The deal was they would show the pictures on the titantron unless kane fought the rock, so the match of kane and rock is about to start, gtv kicks in on the tron and its revealed one of the stooges forgot to put film in the camera so kane and rock attack the corperation.

So much for the disgusting and horrifying face the stooges were seeing when the took off the mask.
