SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY

Uhh, they should be more worried about the pills than the weed.. 9 times outta 10, the pills are a Class 3 Controled Substance which will be a felony charge for EACH pill.. That is, if they don't have a perscription..

The weed on the other hand, since it was under an once (28 grams) will be a misdemeanor..

I do not know the specific laws where they got busted but most times this is the case..

That's a good point, Krispy. Unless they can provide prescriptions, their troubles will extend way beyond getting released from WWE.

WWE.com just confirmed this, btw. Both guys will still be on Sci-Fi tomorrow, but I bet it's the last time we'll see Sabu, and I imagine that RVD will be let go shortly after SNME.

That's a pretty good prediction loopy. RVD will probably keep the belt until SNME, unless they get someone great to replace him.

Damn, and I was really getting to like Sabu. Hey, maybe Tommy Dreamer will get a main event push

Taking it account the whole 'no drugs ever ever again' revolution that happened following Eddie's death, I can't see higher ratings saving RVD's ass right now. Just bear this in mind... if he wasn't the champion of two of the three brands, he'd be fired already. I imagine they're just thinking up ways of letting him down gently and releasing him in a few months when he's back to Mr. Mid-card.

HOWEVER

It's not "just" weed when your company has gone very public with an anti-substance policy and you're two of the most visible aspects of that company. I love RVD and Sabu, but this was absolutely fucking idiotic.

I know it's cool (for some ridiculous reason) to rebel against authority by lighting up, but they HAD to know they were going to get caught, and they deserve to be punished for their own stupidity.
This was stupid, it was more than weed, and it was the wrong time to be sparking up no matter what.

HOWEVER, Drug paraphernallia is a loose term which can be levied against almost anything that COULD be for drug use. It could be a crack pipe or a needle, but it could also be papers (Legal use) or even something as asinine as jewelry. And while those pills are a controlled substance, we really don't know what it was. A lot of places will nail you just for carrying prescription drugs in a non RX container. It's pretty easy to get legal painkillers, too.

Now, they may be idiots, but a lot of the charges might be bullshit. There's no denying the weed, but I'm curious about the rest.

A friend of mine got fired from an establishment for a hemp necklace which was considered "drug paraphenallia." Main reason I'm curious how serious this is. They're probably guilty and Fox's "They deserve pain relief" isn't really enough to deal with these charges if those other pills aren't even pain relief.

...Not to mention how retarded you have to be to not get Vicodin legally.

Come on, Vince is a trotal hypocrite. The only way he'll cave on Mister Monday/Tuesday Night is if sponsors or the likeget on his ass. And even then, he'll fire Rob but create a gimmick in which one of the sponsors is going around dictating policy for WWE, stopping chick from getting nekkid, and getting his ass kicked by Steve Austin, DX, and the Underrrrrrtaker.

They're just "subject to termination" which doesn't mean that they'll for sure get fired. If the WWE is really interested in keeping ECW afloat, they'll just slap them with a fine, of course, pending WWE's "investigation."

My feeling is they cannot levy a heavier punishment against one wrestler than the other. Common sense tells you that RVD is more valuable to the company than Sabu, but if Sabu gets fired and RVD doesn't, that will cause waves. Especially with all the talk about the drug testing being non-discriminatory (everybody gets tested and punished the same, whether main event or jobber).

My personal feeling is, they will phase out RVD and Sabu as soon as possible, and the suspend the pair of them, or even send them to rehab. When they return, WWE will fire Sabu for "unrelated" reasons. RVD will get to keep his job, but will probably be treading water for the rest of his WWE tenure.

The only other alternative I see is if WWE fires the pair of them, but brings RVD back in about 6 months time (assuming that he doesn't opt to work for TNA instead).

We know the non-discriminatory line is bullshit.

Besides, different charges were levied against the two. You cannot say they need the same punishment, especially since we don't even know if Sabu's pills were a felony or an unmarked perscription of Prozac.

Well, you know and I know that the "everybody treated equally" line is bullshit, but they have to be seen publicly to uphold that. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors (regarding drug testing on guys like HHH etc.), but this is a very public incident.

Just like they were publically showing themselves to be against steroids throughout the 90s?

The Immediate Future Of Rob Van Dam & Sabu

Partial Source: PWInsider.com

It's been said that Rob Van Dam and Sabu are taking their punishments very well. They are not complaining at all since they know it's their fault. Neither man will be fired over the incident. After this month, all parties will be moving forward as if it never happened.

Rob Van Dam will be gone for 30 days, however, he's in line for a huge push when he returns next month. Also, Sabu's push will continue and it doesn't appear that he will be suspended. Vince McMahon likes Sabu so much that it appears as though that he doesn't have anything to worry about in terms of getting fired or being de-pushed. McMahon loves his old-school wildman character, as well as his in-ring work.

Damn, and I was really getting to like Sabu. Hey, maybe Tommy Dreamer will get a main event push
Well, now that Edge has the "WWE Championship" does that mean he's carrying around BOTH belts or just the WWE title, because frankly RVD should have the ECW World Title on him if the match wasn't for BOTH belts, and considering the fact that none of the superstars (RVD, Edge or Cena) said anything about it being for both belts nor did the commentators, and the title graphic only displayed the WWE title...it would just make a bigger mess out of stuff than things already are with these 2 title belts, IMHO. But then I just thought about this: with RVD's 30-day suspension, if he was still hanging on to the ECW belt and didn't drop it to someone tuesday, would the ECW title be vacated, and we'd have to see some kind of tournament for it or something? Please, if anyone can clear up ANY details whatsoever let me know.

P.S.--Really, a big loser in this whole thing is the reputation of wrestlers from Michigan. RVD, as it is well known is from Battle Creek, and Sabu (real name Terry Brunk) is from Detroit and trained by the original Sheik (real name Ed[ward] Farhat) who lived here in Lansing, MI which is where I live. If you want to read more on Sabu or the Sheik plenty of info is on both their pages on Wikipedia--the worst thing about this is that I am actually good friends with a couple of people from the Sheik's family who live in town...it really saddens me to think what they would say about all this if they knew, but as far as I can tell they don't follow wrestling all that closely.

Watch ECW. Or if the utter shit programming is a deterrent, read the results somewhere. This is all answered.

Ok this may have already been said/discussed

Rvd is suspended whilst Sabu gets a 1000 dollar fine
while this is good, it is also bad. Sabu is a nice crowd draw, but Rvd was about to hit the high point of his career ( excuse the bad pun :P ), and this happening may be a bad blow to his career and also Ecw. As he is one of the best known ecw wrestlers this may take a ratings chunk away. And while Big Show may be able to be a good ME-er I really don't believe it would be RVD or Angle material.

Both of these guys are assholes. RVD would be a bigger loss than Sabu (at least in my opinion) but I wouldn't be surprised if they're both gone. (for a couple of different reasons)

Yeah, they can do some crazy things in the ring, but...*shrug*

I just have to give a little chuckle when people talk about RVD versus Jerry Lynn as one of the great ECW matches. There was alot going on there.
