Van Dam, Sabu - Busted in Ohio?
According to TPWW's own news and other sites Rob and Sabu got busted driving back from a show when a cop busted Rob for speeding. They immediatly smelled pot, and searched the car. They found pot and vicodin on Rob, and other medication on Sabu. So here's what i'm wondering:

a) is this true?
b) what the fuck action is WWECW going to take?
c) will anyone even care?

The Ironton Tribune is reporting today that Rob Van Dam and Sabu were arrested Sunday night as they were driving from yesterday's ECW show in Huntington, WV to tonight's Raw taping in Philadelphia, PA. RVD was driving the car near Hanging Rock, OH when they were pulled over for speeding. When the trooper approached the car, he smelled marijuana and performed a search. The story reported that RVD, real name Robert Szatowski, was found to have 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin in his possession.

The story also stated that Sabu, real name Terry Brunk, "was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances, according to the OSHP." They were cited and posted bond at the scene. They are both scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. on Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court.

If this is true, and the WWE enforces their policy, they just lost their ECW and WWE champion and main non-champion ECW star.

Boy, if ECW wasn't fucked before, it is now.

Check the facts, Weed isn't addictive. Now yes, when theres some around people will smoke a great deal of it, but that doesn't mean its addictive. Addiction is when you can't cope with out a drug, and many people who smoke weed can go without it. (I know many people who smoke weed, very well educated on drugs they're to, like me, and they all say the samething)

Btw, I can name quite a few drugs that aren't addictive.

You say "many people" can go without it. What about the people who aren't lumped into the "many" category? It would have to be addictive to some extent to say "many" and not "ALL" people (who use it) can go without it.

Actually, considering habit-forming drugs are considered psychologically addicting, check your facts before you dismiss someone. And please, check what your description of addiction is, as you're kind of, well, wrong there.

Looks like Ecw may soon take a nose dive right the shitter, for me these were the few I watched Ecw for, and If they leave, Cena gets his title back, and Ecw not have anyone to shine the spotlight on besides Angle, it may be a rough time, thankfully Angle is good enough to M.E by himself and still have a great match :P , but seriously I can see Ecw pull through this but it will add some turmoil to Raw and Smackdown to help fix things, Anyone have any insight on what may happen?

I'm guessing there may be a few more drafts to replace rvd and sabu, if they have to leave for awhile.

yeah, ecw losing angle, rvd and sabu is pretty much a deathblow, and I had forgot angle was taking time off.

Like I said they may have to draft a few people at least for a bit until angle rvd and sabu come back after they heal / suspension runs up

"13. DISCIPLINE FOR VIOLATION OF LAW

Any Talent who is arrested, convicted or who admits to a violation of law relating to use, possession, purchase, sale or distribution of prohibited drugs will be in material breach of contract and subject to immediate dismissal.

Have you ever heard the phrase "subjected to ______?"

Subject doesn't mean that it might happen, it means it will happen to them.

Of course, WWE won't fire RVD. But did ANYONE think that their wellness plan was worth the paper it was printed on?

Very interesting situation all around.

On one hand, we now know for a complete and certain fact that RVD's stoner character isn't kayfabe, which is kind of cool in it's own way.

On the other hand, Van Dam is probably at the highest peak of his career right now what with main eventing both RAW and ECW shows and holding both the WWE Championship and ECW Championship. It's a shame that he's going to have to lose the belts and his push this way.

Will WWE give RVD and Sabu full releases? Would they go so far with this drug testing enactment as to get rid of two of their biggest stars and let them go to another promotion?


In my opinion, it's just weed, and RVD and Sabu both take enough high impact risks to need pain medication. They definitely don't deserve to be fired over this stupid bullshit.

This was stupid, it was more than weed, and it was the wrong time to be sparking up no matter what.

HOWEVER, Drug paraphernallia is a loose term which can be levied against almost anything that COULD be for drug use. It could be a crack pipe or a needle, but it could also be papers (Legal use) or even something as asinine as jewelry. And while those pills are a controlled substance, we really don't know what it was. A lot of places will nail you just for carrying prescription drugs in a non RX container. It's pretty easy to get legal painkillers, too.

Now, they may be idiots, but a lot of the charges might be bullshit. There's no denying the weed, but I'm curious about the rest.

A friend of mine got fired from an establishment for a hemp necklace which was considered "drug paraphenallia." Main reason I'm curious how serious this is. They're probably guilty and Fox's "They deserve pain relief" isn't really enough to deal with these charges if those other pills aren't even pain relief.

...Not to mention how retarded you have to be to not get Vicodin legally.
