I'm disgusted with the WWE using Eddie's death for a storyline. If they'd have done that to Owen Hart they'd have the shit sued out of them... Oh yeah, the Hart's did sue the WWE didn't they. I'm more surprised at Rey and Chavo for even doing it.

The storyline is fine between Rey and Chavo. I just don't like the fact that they are dragging it out by bringing Eddie's own widow into the mix. But, if Vickie's alright with it, there really isn't too much we can do about it.

And with WWE logic, Rey is kind of like Cena, where Rey sells alot of merchandise with the kids, so he wouldn't be the one turning heel. I guess as long as Rey is getting cheered throughout all of this, he's probably fine with it.

Just curious: What could we do about it if Vicky wasn't okay with it?

I'm sorry, it seemed a bit stupid to say there's nothing we can do about it because Vicky's okay with it, since there'd still be nothing we could do about it as long as the people in actual control of WWE were going to do it.

LOL, I wish I had some insider pull. But of course, we have no control over what kind of storylines they go along with. Only live crowd reaction determines how far a storyline will go. Kind of like the Haas/Lilian/Viscera angle. People didn't seem to care too much, and it didn't last long.

I don't think Vicky needs the cash. I'm sure she collected a lot of cash off of Eddie shirts shortly after his death, not to mention book and DVD sales. Or how about how many friends she would be able to turn to for fiscal support? I'm sure Chavo and Rey would help her through any rough time.
If she wants to exploit the memory of Eddie for any reason, who are we to say a damn thing about it? Maybe she's doing it to keep Eddie's memory alive. Maybe she's doing it for the money. Maybe Eddie won't be brought up in this storyline. Maybe Vince shits kool-aid powder.

But they are exploiting him, you even said it. The WWE is exploiting the memory of Eddie Guerrero.

People may be complaining about it, and some may not give a shit, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the WWE is taking the passing of a real human being and bringing it into storylines as a way to make money.

Okay, I didn't read the spoilers before I wrote this and looking at comments left this is already out of date, but hell, it's still a good point.





For all we know Vicky may just say she has to stick with her family, and Chavo is family, not Rey. For all we know Eddie won't be mentioned.
We only have the memories of him in the ring. The memories we have of him are nothing compared to, I don't know... the memories of his widow.
It's Vicky's life. It's her cross she has to hold. At the end of the day we, as fans, are going to find something to bitch about.
At the end of the day Vicky might be happy to keep Eddie's memory alive. Chavo might be happy to be getting more air time than Justin Credible. Rey might be happy to preform with the memory of his friend.
So if you don't like this rumor that hasn't hit pwinsider.com yet, then for your own sake don't watch SmackDown. You might have a heart attack. If you're upset that Eddie's widow Vicky is on TV keeping the memory of her husband alive, even if that's the path SmackDown takes, write letters to WWE, start an angry mob, do what you must. Please keep in mind that if anyone should be pissed off about Eddie getting exploited, it should be his family.

*edit- Just read the spoilers, and I saw that coming a mile away. I'm not gonna argue this story line simply because it's stupid.

People, today I realized something. As long as Eddie's name and memory gets a reaction from the fans they'll keep bringing his name and memory up. If it'll draw group of people it'll sell. Let's look at Rey's title reign where every match was for Eddie. Now Chavo has turned heel, and Eddie's widow is on Chavo's side. I don't like it.
Why did DX, ECW, Hulk Hogan, and the evil Vince all come back? Money. That's the bottom line. DX draws, ECW might draw, people scream like idiots when Hogan comes out, and the evil Vince is always fun. If Eddie's name draws after death, get used to it because we'll see it again and again.

Let's say Kurt drops dead. His greatest known fear is that he will one day be forgotten. So, if the company uses his name/legacy to honor him and keep his memory alive, is that going to be 'disgusting'?

Yes, they make money from Eddie's memory. But shit, it's a damn company. That's what fucking companies do, guys: they make money. If this is the best way they can think of to keep Eddie's memory fresh in our minds, then what exactly is the beef?

Uhh... it's a stupid storyline that requires little to no creative ability because they're just playing off something that happened in real life. And it's not something like RVD getting busted for possession, or even Matt Hardy getting fired over the Lita/Edge affair.

It's the death of one of wrestling's most loved characters. And it only happened a year ago.

Sorry, but this is not a tribute, this is an exploitation. No one is going to forget Eddie anytime soon. What they have been doing, ever since his death, is just exploiting it. They started off with Randy Orton dragging Eddie's name through the dirt, just weeks after his death!

Storyline-wise, they have this all messed up anyways. It should be Rey turning heel for catapulting himself to the top using Eddie's name. But instead, it's Eddie's own family that are supposed to be the bad people in this situation.

I wish this was all just a basic storyline, but instead this all involves a real death. They have never done this before, so why start now? Owen Hart never gave anyone a higher power. And when Hardcore Holly returns, should be be given the power of Crash to win all of his matches too?
