After this week's Smackdown, I'm excited about the direction Kennedy is heading. Although the Ut did put Khali over recently....

Right now these guys remind me the most of the main Attitude Era guys:
Kennedy - Austin (Can't really explain why, but he has that sort of feel about him) Carlito - The Rock (Charisma coming out his ass, and solid wrestling skills. HAs great potential. He also reminds me of Eddie Guerrero) Edge - Mick Foley - (Won't ever be "The Main Guy" but will be around the main event for a long while. Can also bump like hell, and has great ring psycology) CM Punk - HHH (He has an early Trips feel about him. We shall see) Kevin Thorn - Undertaker (A Gimmick wrestler who can brawl, who the fans do like) Randy Orton - HBK (Has an early DX HBK Feel about him) Cena doesn't really remind me of any of the past era stars. The Closest imo would be Hogan (Great Charisma, Nothing special ring skills) or possibly Randy Savage. |

If anything Orton reminds me of a heel Rock. The difference is he is only good as a heel IMO.

Well Orton reminds me of the cocky heel HBK from back in the day.
Edge is a great worker but will not become one of the top players in the WWE, unless he turns face and Cena turns heel and they fued again. If Edge can recapture the 2001 Edge he could become huge imo...but back to my point. Edge just reminds me of Foley for some reason. I dunno. CM Punk could become the HHH of the new generation. Just watch. |

I don't think Vince has any more daughters, though.

Orton honestly could be the top level star, and so could Cena. The problem is, they're a good example of what WWE's done recently with top talent. Push them prematurely because they're getting reactions, then ruin them with stupid gimmick changes and try and make the shows stand on their green shoulders.
Carlito's a no brainer, Kennedy as well, but their characters run the same risks the aforementioned duo do. |

Steve Austin had his share of shitty gimmicks and obscurity before he became Stone Cold.
The Rock used to be some midcarder named My IV or something. What happened? They grew. |

Rock and Austin really both exploded with popularity in their first year or two. It seems like it was a longer process because it was at a time where so much was happening in the industry, but it really happened quickly. Rock showed up in late 96 and he was way over within the next year, and then became a top guy within that next year. It was even quicker with Stone Cold.
So if there is another Rock or Austin, they're not around now, or we'll see them explode within the next few months.... |

To me Edge should be fit the next HHH role. Which is...
...Hes a solid worker that the fans 'love to hate' whos such a good heel that he can make any face look good. Hes a solid worker and puts on good matches. Never be like Hogan, Austin, or Rock, but he certainly is a star and always stays in the main event. Carlito was off to a big start and was reminiscent of Rock circa late 97/early 98. But now they've not only failed to push him to the next step, but they've taken him down a notch alltogether. Kennedys getting good exposure and heat in his fued with Taker, but they gotta make sure to have him go over and then move on to another high profile and interesting fued to keep the push steady. |
