It's a place with pretty much every arcade rom. The problem, I can't figure out how to download them. The link takes you to the rom that I want to download, but haven't the slightest clue of how to go about doing so.

This is where you guys come in.

Can someone please explain to me in the easiest way how to run this sh**. I put everything where it needs to be and I did Start>RUN>CMD. Now what do I do? I want to play TNMT.

Assuming you put the MAME folder directing in C:\, type cd c:\mame.

Then when you're in c:\mame, type mame nameofgame

And then you're all set.

Place your Mame folder in C:\

Start > Run > "cmd"

Type "cd C:\mame" and it should then read "C:\Mame>"

Type in "mame tmnt"

ENTER

Note: You must have a BIN and MANIFEST folders to work.

the downloads for that japanese site keep canceling halfway through though

i have my folder on the desktop, hence when i open the dos prompt it starts in C:/Windows/Owner

then i type in "CD Desktop\Arcade Emulator" (thats the folder i made and extracted MAME into then type "Mame tmnt" or whatever the zip file of the game you want to play is called.

Not the roms have to be in the rom foler, not extracted.

OMG, I am so close to getting this to work it's not even funny. OK I did everything that you guys said and when I put "mame simpsons" it then listed all the rom files that were needed for the game and said "Files not found." But I put the rom files and those other files in the "Roms" subfolder. WTF.

Did you put the full zipped version in the "roms" folder? Do not extract them.

What "other files" did you put in the "Roms" folder?

There are two kinds of files you get. There are ones that end in ".rom" and there are ones that look like "J12.15C

OH and I copy and pasted the Zipped Rom Files into the "Roms" subfolder. Is that bad?

No, copying them won't hurt anything. I don't know what two files you're refering to though. Do you have the BIN and MANIFEST folders?

What are those? All I downloaded was one of the Mame 0.69 Files on that website. And whatever came with that File, that's all I got.

You don't need to dl anything for MAME after you dl the program, at least I didn't. The roms I downloaded only had one zip file, not 2, maybe it has to do with what type of file it saves as. Download WinRar and all the .zip files will only be one file when you dl them, them put the non extracted zip file in the roms folder in mame.
