So.... Chris Jericho AND Jeff Hardy = Batista?

Might as well, they immediately threw away the both men's storylines once Cena could come back.

I honestly think this is a terribly mismanaged Wrestlemania. They have more than enough stars this time around to put on a great show, that still operates within the confines of their current direction.

I think Edge vs Taker is a great choice.
I also agree with Ric Flair vs HBK

However, I think instead of this Batista should be facing Orton in a Brand vs Brand grudge match. It's a bigger match than him and Umaga.

Umaga and Kane should be in MITB along with Jericho, Kennedy and the crew.

I'll reserve judgement for whatever they do with the Hornswaggle/JBL/McMahon/Finlay and whoever else gets involved shit until it takes shape.

Orton should have dropped the belt to HHH or Cena, who should have defended against Jeff Hardy in a one on one match.

And Big Show vs Mayweather? I realize it's a fallback plan due to Mysterio's injury but if you're gonna have a big crossover event pitting the "worlds best boxer" as their putting it, they should put them in there with their "greatest wrestler". Their franchise and championship name.
That means I think Cena vs Mayweather should be the second main event, with Edge vs Taker and HHH vs Hardy as the main event title matches.

What bugs me about this Wrestlemania is that there's been no real long term booking for it, other than the Hornswaggle storyline. There was some good long term booking and storylines for Wrestlemaina 21 with Batista, HHH, and Evolution. Where is that this year? Cena randomly returned and won the Rumble. HHH became number one contender a month before Wrestlemania. Now it's Orton vs Cena vs HHH.

I don't watch Smackdown or ECW much, but Palumbo and Noble should have a Wrestlemania match. They've been feuding for a while now and Wrestlemania is the perfect event for them to end their feud.

Agree. It's not bad at all.

It's pretty sad that it looks like they suddenly realized Batista wasn't on the card and suddenly shunted him into a match with Umaga. If this had been developed as an actual fued I would care about it. Really, I would. And I've already said that I would be very cool with Umaga and Kane straight off. Putting Dave and Randy Orton together does seem like a good choice, but again this shit needs development, which wouldn't be hard between the two of them and could have started as early as the Evolution reunion several months ago.

I wish it would have already taken shape, or gained a purpose. Again, it looks like they just now realized that this wasn't going anywhere and threw up the idea that Finlay is behind it. Somehow it looks simultaneously rushed and late, which takes talent I guess. But it's pretty cool that they took "Vince's son is a midget named Little Bastard" and turned it into JBL being a detective and getting in a brawl with Fit Finlay. It might become something very cool by Mania, though leading into it I would have used Shane instead of JBL.

I'm torn on this. I guess that's good because everyone should have opinions about the main event. HHH vs. Hardy was shown at Armageddon, or some other late ppv last year so that wouldn't have done the trick. Cena beating Hardy would have been a massive waste and Hardy beating Cena would have been too much too fast, like Lashley. Not to mention, it would have been Hardy beating a face champion, which seems sort of wrong. All bets sort were called off when Hardy lost at the Royal Rumble, but to be honest I'd prefer either of the other two situations to Cena-HHH-Orton just because it's gets the ball rolling into somewhere new. Ideally, Trips should have heel-turned on Hardy after being beaten. Then we could go through this all again and have Hardy beat Trips clean at Mania with Cena fighting Mayweather or fighting Orton in a grudge match or whatever he wants to do.

And Big Show vs Mayweather?
To be honest, the fact that Mayweather is tiny and Big Show is big makes this entirely fine with me. I know that's lowest common denominator logic, but it just works really easily.

I want to see them get into it, but I wouldn't give them a one on one match at Wrestlemania. Maybe a brand vs. brand 10 man tag match where they tussel which leads to a match at Backlash. I mean, they have worked well, but six minutes on Wrestlemania is a bit for either right now.

Really. This does seem misplanned. Or at least hastily planned.

Go back and watch WrestleMania 2000, and then tell me Kane and Dave Batista vs Umaga and Paul Burchill is still a good idea.
The match would theoretically have a story. "Umanga" and Paul Burchill would be representing RAW, with Burchill looking to step up in 2008, and Umaga just looking to destroy someone and make his presence felt. Umaga would probably develop a rivalry with both Kane and Batista, who would feel the need to defend their spots at big men.

Umaga & Burchill would basically be the ambitious team, managed by William Regal, and Kane & Batista would be the defending face team, accompanied by Theodore Long, perhaps? You've got four of the better big men in the WWE competing (if you consider Burchill a big guy), and the match would be fairly solid.

It's certainly an underwhelming WrestleMania, that is for sure. Except for Money in the Bank. That is shaping up to possibly be the strongest edition of the match ever, and we've only got four of the guys confirmed.

What WrestleMania needs right now, is MVP vs. Matt Hardy for the US Title. That was the feud of 2007 in many people's opinion, and it would certainly boost up the story behind WrestleMania.

Beth Phoenix and Mickie James also had a story behind their little feud that goes back to 2007, I believe. Alas, that has been scrapped. I'm thinking that Mickie James might be responsible for the faces winning, however, and continuing her feud with the Women's Champion through Mania.

If we are being technical then that storyline started when Trish brought Beth in
