I don't think Rey did anything special for the IC title. Yea, he had some great matches with Jericho and Ziggler, but I seem to have an issue with former world champs holding the IC title. The IC title was a stepping stone for guys like The Rock, Steve Austin, Randy Savage, HBK, Triple H, Eddie Guerrero, and more. The IC title should be used to build up new stars, not a place holder for a guy who moves some merch.

To me, this kind of reeks of the WWE being able to point at Rey and say, "SEE!? WE AREN'T AFRAID TO SUSPEND OUR TOP GUYS!!"

At the very least, I wonder how they're going to get the title off Mysterio, especially since Ziggy wasn't supposed to get his title shot until Breaking Point. Rey's suspension conveniently doesn't begin until Wednesday, September 2nd, which gives them time to write in an excuse to have a title match during next week's Smackdown tapings on Tuesday.

Either way, it's going to make Ziggy look like the future star he is.

Dolph Ziggler is awesome because he just exudes that classic heel look. He has been impressing me ever since that first match he had against Batista. Since he moved to Smackdown he has just sky-rocketed.

I must say though that I prefer his first theme (the one on page 1 of this thread) to his new one. Sad that they changed it.

And, Ziggy is awesome because he's the only one who escaped the box going to OVW and now his a really awesome gimmick. And..............the other guys don't.

On second thought, Rey should come out and claim injury and have to reward the title to Ziggler via forfeit and then have Morrison come out, make a challenge and beat Ziggler for it in like 10 seconds.

John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler would be rather splendid. Especially if Morrison and Miz are IC and US champs, respectively.

Jeter I believe simply fell through the cracks and was never develop properly and I still think that WWE really dropped the ball on Kenny Dysktra but I think politicing from the bigger names (I'm looking a you Trips) were responsible for burying him too.

Watching him shake people's hands. It wasn't until he had that match with Batista (I think it was his first match?) that he impressed me.
