What does this have to do with PG? WWF was PG until 99.

To be honest, I think a lot of it has to do with the negative attention the deaths of Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit gave the company. They want to be seen as "nice guys" in the eyes of the media, which is a bit bizarre considering the testosterone the business runs on. Whatever.

pg WWE are averaging about a 4.0

WWF averaged at about 6.0 and keep in mind that this was during the monday night war when WCW were drawing about 4.5

so by that logic

wcw (the shitty years) > wwe (the pg/cena years)

i also found out

The highest rating to date that "Raw" has ever had was on September 27, 1999, in an episode that featured a 25-minute-long "This Is Your Life" segment with Mankind and The Rock. The segment received an 8.4 rating.

Kids of that age are way more impressionable than we know or probably even remember. If WWE thinks they can clean things up by doing this, then so be it. No need to create any more trash for society. Perhaps the creater of this post should take a long look at himself and decide if that really made his life any better.

The fans of the attitude era have essentially "graduated" on to become UFC fans. The hardcore wrestling fans have remained, but the casual fans have departed. The WWE is smart. They are targeting kids. Kinda like Hitler youth, get them while their young and then adapt to these new wrestling fans likes and dislikes. The WWE doing what they did in the Attitude era makes no sense now, because people can go watch the real thing (MMA).

I remember back in the day (Attitude Era), I would be glued to my television every Monday night for Raw. Born in 1985, I was around 12/13/14 when Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, and Mankind were involved in some seriously fucked up shit

I remember The Undertaker crucifying Stone Cold, The Undertaker "hanging" The Big Bossman, Val Venis almost getting his cock chopped off, Mick Foley Flying off the fucking cage, and Mark Henry fucking most of the female roster.

Hell, when I watched D-X back then, they were throwing people off the stage in dumpsters, invading WCW, and visiting strip clubs. What are they doing now? Going to the evangelical brainwashing center with Sting and performing 'relations' with the boss' daughter...

Why does the WWE feel the need to shelter this generation of fans from angles which are truly entertaining? I looked up to Stone Cold Steve Austin because he didn't give a god damn about what anybody thought of him (he even held a fucking gun to Vince McMahon's head). John Cena promotes "hustle, loyalty and respect." What the hell is that? When i watched wrestling in middle school it was an attempt to get away from all of the crap they taught me, not to reinforce it.

These kids watching the product do not need something that reinforces what they are taught in school. Give them something that makes them stand out as the kid who "saw a guy get his head grinded against a steel cage like a piece of cheese, and then came out the next night to smack everyone with a fucking steel chair." This safety shit is fucking boring the hell out of me...
The problem is that the Attitude Era doesn't fit todays demographic.

During the Attitude Era, the WWF targeted a much older crowd because thhat was the crowd buying into the product.

But those people who were targeted in the late 90's got older and had kids, and have become the major demographic of today's WWE.

Were you a member of Ashcroft's Department of Justice under the Bush Administration? JK

Yeah, when I look back on things it probably did really fuck my life up. Made me believe that if I got into a fight, a single punch to the head would not do that much damage... then I woke up in a hospital a couple of times.

Apparently it's called "Bragging Rights" because we all get them after sitting through sixty minutes of the blandest main event wrestling of all time.

Place your bets now on how many rest holds Randy will use in the course of 60 minutes.

It wouldn't be as bad if WWE was TV-PG if they still had decent wrestling week in and week out. During the 1980s and early 1990s, WWF had more wrestlers who could entertain the crowd or had more interesting characters to watch than today's WWE.

Seems like the whole pushing the focus more on "sports entertainment" at the cost of good wrestling is hurting the product overall. Right now they have RAW that is too cluttered up in the main event and full of bad booking and Smackdown that has within the last few months gotten much better as a show compared to before.

They don't even have very good matches. Are they just going through every gimmick match to see if they perform well in at least one? Because 60 minutes of straight wrestling doesn't sound like it is going to be this one either.

Is it too late to rename the PPV "WWE Iron Man?"

Why isn't called the Steel Man Match?

Because Cena is Superman, and he's the Man of Steel and all...
