You should also get PeerGuardian/PeerBlock to make sure your ISP doesn't find out what you are up to! I don't know what it is or does, but maybe someone else can go into more details on that.

That's the point, we all moved on from Vuze to a superior program, so nobody knows how to do it any more. In the time you've spent defending YOUR chosen torrent software, you could have downloaded and installed a program that asks you, up front, which files you want out of a torrent when you open one and isn't easily susceptible to java viruses (as far as I know). Like Req says, it's all free, and due to how small uTorrent is, you could probably download and install it in the time it takes to brew a pot of coffee. So why don't you just TRY it?

Do you use Internet Explorer, out of interest?

I don't recall saying anybody was a nerd for knowing how to do it. I just figured since we were all here....in a thread....talking about it....maybe somebody would have the answer handy. I can't even currently think of anything that I WANT to download. This isn't some huge 'waste of time' for me to post in this thread. There's nobody sitting here with a gun to my head demanding only 4 songs from Limp Bizkit or something. This situation was never dire. I was trying to figure out how to do something with the tools that I already have. Why is that such a problem?

You made it a problem by acting like you were incapable of downloading a program unless you had a gun to your head and were being forced to download only 4 songs from Limp Bizkit.

It took me about two seconds to type utorrent.com and hit enter. uTorrent's install file is 283KB and is available on the front page of their website. -KB-. It took literally less than a second for me to download. It takes less than 15 seconds to install depending how capable of clicking 'Next' you are.

And then your problem would have been solved, and you would have then been using a better program, which uses less system resources than Vuze, and which doesn't rely on a horrible Java platform to run on, which is part of the reason it is such a slow resource-hogging program.

You could have done the logical thing, which would be to take the advice of a group of people who are nerds, and know more about the subject than you, and downloaded a better, more user friendly alternative to the program you had an 'issue' with.

Why would you NOT take the advice to upgrade to a FREE, BETTER version of the program you want advice on, especially when the new program fixes the issue by default?

If you weren't a dickhead, you would say "Oh, ok thanks for the advice" and you would try it, because at the very least if you don't like it, it takes even less time to uninstall the program than it did to install it.

This isn't Firefox vs Internet Explorer, or Mac vs PC. It's certainly not Honda vs. Chevy.

Vuze and uTorrent have a singular purpose, and that is to download torrents. uTorrent does it better.

The easy thing here would have been for anyone to have told me how to download my selection of songs from a torrent as opposed to the whole thing in the program that I already had. If they didn't know, they could have either:

A) Said they didn't know

or

B) Posted nothing at all about the matter.

I like Vuze. It has never caused me a problem. The fact that I didn't know you could download single songs, coupled with the mere fact that I like Vuze were my only faults in this whole fiasco.

I got upset when people started calling me 'retarded' and whatnot simply for using the program that I use. I understand that it's easy to download another program. I simply didn't fucking want to. There were at least three people in this very thread who said that it could be done with the exact program that I already use, and that was ALL I was trying to figure out. Very simple logic going on here.

The problem is, ABT finds that his head starts to hurt after punching himself in the head too much. ABT wishes there was some kind of remedy for the pain.
