That being said, it should really be Rusell instead of Bird, but Rusell was not a people person and played in a racist age and didn't always get his due. But yeah, I'd put Bourque as one of the local Icons anyway. |

That game was an anomole for Bill Mueller. Sure he had a good night at the plate, but jesus, he's never had a defensive game as bad as that. Let's hope that doesn't happen again.

It was weird though, because he made about three great plays to balance it out.

To be fair, the one in foul territory wasn't completely his fault.

Holy shit, anyone remember that scene in Back to the Future II?
They had a sports almanac from the future or something and it said that Boston won the 2004 WS against the Cardinals ![]() |

Really? I coulda swore that they mentioned the Sox in there somewhere (not necessarily in 2004 or against the Cards, I just improvised to fit it with the situation). Shows what I know.
![]() I do remember the Cubs/"Miami" though, and it was in 2015. |

I dont know if this was mentioned before but I found this interesting
-1957 Boston Celtics beat St. Louis Hawks to win the NBA Championship -1960 Boston Celtics beat St. Louis Hawks to win the NBA Championship -1961 Boston Celtics beat St. Louis Hawks to win the NBA Championship -1970 Boston Burins beat St. Louis Blues to win the Stanley Cup -2002 New England Patriots beat St. Louis Rams to win the Super Bowl If the Sox win the world series I think it would be the first time one city has beat another city for all 4 championships |

That was pretty cool by Schilling to put "K ALS" on his cleat, since he knew the cameras would be zooming in on his bloody ankle.

I send my love to Suppan, without him, this would still be possible, but a lot less fun to rub in the face of Cardinals fans.

Manny gunned down Walker at home hahaha
Manny does shit like that, makes terrible plays and gets people say he is the worst defensive outfielder of all time then he makes a play like he made tonight. Or a while back when he robbed that HR in Yankee Stadium |

Just earlier today I was talking to my huge Cardinals fan uncle, and we were laughing about Manny's errors recently. I jokingly told him that now Manny was gonna pull out something great tonight, and he ended up doing it. If only he could play like that more often.

Pedro Martinez is back. What an awesome pitching performance. Manny had a great game too.
GO BOSOX. A sweep would be nice but i'd rather see the Red Sox win the World Series in Boston. |

Even though I'm pretty sure the Red Sox will win, it would be twisted irony if the Cards come back and win 4-3...

all I gotta say is wow... and I refuse to get all happy till they win a 4th... sorry, long time Sox fan... I ain't gonna celebrate to soon...
that being said, I am tempted to take one of those packages to STL for tonights or Tomorrows game... Hey, I'll look later, but who was the idiot that said "Saint Louis never looses at home"... Here's your sign! |

So I heard on the radio today, that 20 teams have gone up 3-0 in a world series, and 17 of them went on to sweep, and all 20 at least won the series. Now as far as the Red Sox goes, statistics means shit. If they lost 4 straight, It would be a million times worse of a letdown than the 86 series. I have a feeling the curse is finally broken, but you never know...

I do put stock in last night pedro had them chasing changeups all nights cause all they seemed to be able to hit were fastballs. Lowe's a sinkerball pitcher... he should have no problems w/ them tonight. |

I'd lay money that the Cards will take the next two at home and then lose with God himself on the mound in Game 6 at Fenway.
