If I'm forced to rank, it's really just between Brady and Manning for the 1 and 2 spot. I'll give Brees and Rodgers the distant 3 and 4.
It's between Roethlisberger and Rivers for the 5th, I guess, but they're nowhere near Brady or Manning so does it even really matter? That's my point, Reverend. Saying "Big Ben" is in their league, or going as far as to say he's better, is just uncalled for. |

Roethlisberger and Rivers both rank ahead of rodgers. Rodgers isn't much better than Romo IMO.

Infact Rivers has shown a greater inability to win big games than Tony Romo. The Chargers have had one of the better teams in the league for the last 5 years, and Rivers hasn't won anything.

Are you serious? I am a Packers fan, so take this with a grain of salt, but Rodgers is a much better player than Romo. He's smarter, it's undebatable that he's a faster, better runner, AND I've been drinking.

I think Rodgers is great. I love the way he throws the ball, and I love watching him play.
But Drew Bress is currently the best QB playing today. |

Aaron Rodgers is one of the top QBs right now, he carried my fantasy team last year.

No doubt about that. I'm realistic. I do overvalue Rodgers a bit, but I know he's not the best. Top 5, though, for sure.

Current generation spanning 5 years? Throw Malkin in with Ovie and Crosby. If it weren't for Malkin carrying the team on his back Crosby would still have no cups. It's far too early in their careers to put them up with the greats.

I'm a Steelers fan but to be honest can't stand Ben. Never did really. He's in the top 5 of the league but not at the top.
1.Manning 2.Brady 3.Brees 4.Roethlisberger 5. Rivers Also wanted to point out to the guy talking about the Towels... If they are so faggoty why has about every team tried to bring out their own version of it? Also a Pens fan but Gretzky > Ovie or Crosby |

Ronaldo 1994-1998 is probably the best footballer anyone will ever see. He was still a great, great player, one of the best ever, later in his career, but for those years he was just absolutely stunningly brilliant. Unstoppable is the word. He had absolutely everything - equally strong on either foot, unbelievably quick with astonishing acceleration, a massive strong beast with sublime, absolutely absurd skill and the deadliest finisher I have ever seen aside from Romario. Still a fan of Fat Ronaldo today, in fact I'd have still brought him to the World Cup if I had a say in Brazil national football team selection.
Ronaldo was also doing Ronaldinho's signature "flip-flap" thing years before Ronaldinho did it. Ronaldinho was enormously skillful but a very overrated footballer, in my opinion. I think Rivaldo was a better player without getting close to the same adulation and Ronaldinho has no place really being called anywhere close to one of the best ever. He had a couple of good seasons but one game vs. Real Madrid at the Bernabeu basically stands as the sum total of his good performances in big games. He was a one-man highlight reel who continually disappointed when it counted most. |

Polamalu is really good, but seriously he isn't even the best safety today.

Best Defensive Back of all time would be a former Steeler: Rod Woodson.
I still don't see how Brees is ranked behind Manning or Brady. Due to the fact that 1. Brees plays on a team that has only just recently had any serious success. 2. Brees stats since shoulder surgery has been as good, if not better than Manning across the board. 3. Brady is a cheating douchebag who gets more roughing the passer calls in his favor than anyone else. |

Probably because Manning and Brady are still better. Brees has been great in New Orleans, but Brady and Manning are legends.

Here are the QB stats since Brees joined New Orleans in 2006. As you can see, they're all 3 up there or they would be had Brady not gotten hurt. But yeah they're about equal. But Manning has been doing it for a lot longer than the other two and Brady has his Super Bowl rings. So that puts Brees behind them. |

One of the best QB/WR combos in the history of NFL right now in New England with Randy Moss & Tom Brady. Hold the record for most touchdown receptions hook-ups in one season. Obviously there's been other great duos (Rice & Montana or Rice & Young might be the best since Jerry Rice is probably the greatest WR ever) but Brady2Moss is going down in the history books.
Phil Jackson is arguably the greatest coach in NBA history with the amount of titles he has won. Probably helps he had unbelievable talent but Jordan & Kobe never won a ring without him. Coach K at Duke University is another one, already has the basketball court named after him and he's still coaching. Duke's basketball program is a contender every year & he just won a gold medal coaching Team USA as well. Been other great college basketball coaches but Coach K might be the best of them all when its all said & done. |

I'm not a follower of any of the three codes of 'Yankball', but I had it on good authority that Brett Favre was the greatest Quarterback in history?
Plus he was in ''Theres Something about Mary''. Could someone please clear this up for me? |

Quite. Had the pleasure of seeing both him and Zidane in action for Real back in 2004, past prime but still awesome, ball control out of this world. People always forget Ronaldo's years at PSV, sensational. |

Come on Rev, I know you're a homer but really? Big Ben is better than Manning? No way. I'll be a homer for a bit. Big Ben better than Brees too? At least Ben had a top-notch defense to work with. Yeah, the Saints hit the home run with turnovers but were 25th in total defense last year. You can't always judge by rings.

I'll change gears here. Derek Jeter may very well be the best live ball era shortstop of all time when all is said and done.
Cal Ripken is right up there as well, but if Jeter can end up with 300 homers, 1500 RBIs, 400 steals, close to 3,500 hits, and around a .310 career average (all of which he's very much in reach of), he'd have Ripken beat. |

Lemieux and Orr are both greater than Gretzky. Jagr is the best of the past 12-15 years.
