the 3 /3 video was a complete ripoff of wwe but you could immediately tell who it was so it was really dumb

ROFL, just saw the end of Impact with the promo for 3-3-11, CLEARLY supposed to be a rip off of the 2-21 promo. Like, there's no second thoughts about that.

While there's no problem with TNA putting the title on Sting and even pushing him, I completely agree with LC. This is a "LOL HEY VINCE LOOK WHAT WE GOT!!!!!111!1!!" moment. When WWE wasn't even going in that direction! THAT'S why TNA is pathetic. Again they unintentionally push WWE. I'm sure they think it was so clever to do that promo, when in reality it's stupid as fucking hell.

They're also, again, as LC said, marketing to the internet crowd, which isn't who they should be marketing for because THEY ALREADY HAVE THEM! And if they don't, if they're someone like me, I'll tune in when I hear they do something good. When I hear and see this all I think is "why are you doing this?"

They need to A. Market to the casual and potential fans who don't follow the internet and B. Stop living in the shadow of WWE so blatantly.

Dude, let me just start by saying you know how much I love you. But c'mon, lets be honest. WWE DID reach out to Sting, that has been acknowledged. And if Vince had of gotten him, he would have done everything in his power to let TNA know.

I don't have a problem with what TNA has done with this 3.3.11 promo, and if it was the other way around, and we all need to admit Vince would do the same if that was the case, everyone would be saying how hilarious it was for him taking the piss out of TNA.

Good on them for having a win occasionally I say. Am I a TNA fan? No. Will I watch the show? No. But I just feel that no matter what they do, TPWW will always feel the need to hate on them. Cause we're too cool for the company.

I've never heard that WWE ever reached out to Sting this year. I know they were aware of the rumors, but I haven't heard anything that said he was ever in contact. There could be evidence out there, I won't deny that, but I haven't heard it.

And why would Vince do something TNA did? If he was in TNA's position (distant number two) of course he would, and it would be pathetic. But I honestly don't think WWE would actively go out of their way to copy a TNA promo so blatantly. And if they did? Honestly, I don't know how I'd feel about it. Probably would laugh it off. But again, I could NEVER, as the distant number 1 promotion, see WWE do something as blatant as this.

I give TNA credit where it's due, and this promo is NOT one of those times. Will it ruin TNA? No. But to me it makes them come off as second rate, and that's not a good thing.

They should have left things as is and just had Sting appear on the broadcast with no build. It would have had more impact.

Usually, when trying to push a product, you do everything different than your competition, and furthermore, you try to distance yourself from them as much as you can, therefore, you do NOTHING that will remind the customers of the competition...

...yeah...

...TNA does everything the other way around. In trying to beat the WWE, they rip-off the WWE, and in doing so, remind the fans of the WWE.

Speaking of which, I didn't know that when Hall and Nash went to WCW, and talked about them not being alone, WWF sued WCW.

No log cabin but metal stairs instead. No fire,no lawsuit. This totally falls under the "Scary Movie" parody rules. You can't sue over a thunder storm. If anyone knows what WWE can sue for it's Hogan and Bischoff(toothpicks anyone?) This thread is now 3 pages long. If they were marketiing to the internet fans I think the shit worked. Plus WWE stole this video first.They may own the footage now.But they fuckin stole it first.

There is a difference between ripping off something YOU own that aired 13 years ago, and ripping off something your current competition did THIS WEEK.

Like they don't have enough stuff to sue over, ie Robbie E/Zack Ryder, most of the ECW stuff last yr, doing storylines where their stars get accused of going back to WWE (Christian & Angle) etc.

Quite easily. What I was saying is that if Vince had of gotten Sting, somewhere along the line something directed at TNA would have happened.

They may not have acknowledged TNA on TV, but they've taken countless jabs at them online over the years. Television isn't the only media around, and WWE play more to the internet fans than we want to believe.

Yeah ok so maybe I'm going off rumors, but I'm pretty sure it was confirmed a while ago that they were reaching out for him. And while WWE may not have openly acknowledged TNA on TV like TNA has them, they have in other ways.

My point was purely that there is too much TNA hate here. And this angle isnt that bad, and going off and calling them pathetic for it is just ridiculous.
