Quote:
The WWE has been hitting the panic button lately. That's why they moved up the draft, wasn't it? Cena does a tremendous job keeping the company on his back, but it's pretty clear that while he's generating more money than anyone in the company, something radical needs to happen if the WWE are going to boost the aforementioned things. The WWE likes to play things safe, though. I think the safe bet is for Triple H to cost CM Punk the WWE Title at Money in the Bank. Triple H has always been a clutch for the WWE to lean on (hell, they pretty much depended solely on him as a heel in 2002 on RAW), and he's been used so sparingly lately that I bet there's minds in the WWE that believe him returning would be an instant pop in ratings, buyrates and such. They'll also probably try to get The Rock for SummerSlam, probably in a Special Guest Referee role in John Cena's main event title match (probably still against Alberto Del Rio). What that writer has suggested, though, is something creative that could make compelling episodic television. It'd be a MAJOR shake-up. It'd definitely have shades of the nWo, and that was a huge thing. CM Punk and John Cena teaming up as the anti-cogs against Vince McMahon and the machine could be the extra kick the WWE may not need (they're not on life support or anything), but probably want, since the idea of business is to make money. It's a risk, though, and that's not something the WWE does too often. Now, after watching that video, it's obvious that Vince McMahon is still trying to be a heel. They could have just left Vince McMahon out of the story completely, or had the Anonymous General Manager make the call. Sure, they might just be trying to make it seem like a huge match, but again -- why build up CM Punk so much if he's surely on the way out? A compelling shake-up, without turning Cena, would be to have McMahon aid Punk (as others have suggested), and Punk becomes the new "Face of the Company" in Vince McMahon's eyes. Then it's a question of why Vince McMahon would want Cena out of the WWE. Maybe someone can provide something really interesting. Maybe he could just call Cena "played out," or something of the like? I dunno. But a Punk and McMahon alliance would be the biggest heat machine of 2011. |

Pipe Dream ,but I'd kill to hear "Miseria Cantare" (sp? the AFI song Punk used in the Indies) for Punk's PPV entrance.

@ Vastardikai - Fuck yes. Its works astoundingly well as a call to arms theme, and lyrically is on par, if not better than "This Fire Burns".

I wonder if Vince McMahon is nutty enough to lead everyone on and try to recreate the attitude era by pissing people off with all this PG shit for years.
Probably not the case but if it were I'd send him a love letter with pictures of my ass. |

lol RB I was expecting something epic, like a John Cena laugh that reveals all of the mysteries of the WWE Universe, but instead we get some laugh that came out of DAMNiNATOR'S mouth

Punk as a Corporate Champion, Vince's Choice would be Awesome.
Although. You'd have to come up with a good reason why Vince would want Cena fired, and my extension his huge Wrestlemania main event with The Rock canceled. |
