The new song, The Day That Never Comes, I really don't listen to Hefield's voice because the guitar work is so beautiful/mellow in the beginning and then it just goes into a crazy solo during the end. That's worth listening to by itself.

But Hetfields voice is pretty good during it, no complaints.

Probably the best song I've heard all year.

Just listened to 'My Apocalypse' from the new album. The guitar work sounds almost straight out of Ride the Lightning, has a great old-school thrash feel. Hetfield's vocals seem a little out of place now that he sounds so different from how he did back in the day, but it's still a pretty kickass song. I'll bet it'd be amazing live.

'The Day That Never Comes' is unbelievably good, too. I cannot wait for this album.

I will say this for Metallica:

It's fucking sad that guitarist with the talent that Kirk Hammett has is stuck with hacks like Hetfield and Lars.

Listened to the whole thing. Yeah, old school metallica is definitely back. All-around, it's pretty fucking awesome.

I fucking love this CD... All Nightmare Long is probably my favorite song on the CD and I cant wait to play this CD on Guitar Hero.

The Day That Never Comes and The Unforgiven III are pretty much the only decent songs on this. The others all sound the same over and over. Granted, it's not as horrible as St. Anger, but it's nothing spectacular.

That first track definitly sounds like they have mixed the the sound of "...and justice for all" with the black album.

In general there is a definite, old-shit sound.
