WOW Pedro got owned pretty bad tonight. I was expecting to see another showdown like Schilling/Santana.
But yeah Pedro is still the man. |

Pedro fucked himself by trying to go 3rd on a comebacker instead of going to 2nd to turn two. The 3rd basemen was at second though due to the "Ortiz shift" - fuckers your shift fucked everything up. Otherwise it could have been a triple play knowing the way Ortiz runs lol
Also Milledge dropping another ball definetly helped. How the hell did he drop that? It literally fell right into the glove perfectly and some how he was still able drop it. |

Damn, didn't realize other teams have offered better prospects for Willis. The Marlins would be retarded to deal him anyway. The whole point of the offseason dumps was to re-stock with young talent, and he's young.
Anyways, I said going into this road trip that I'd be happy with at least 3 wins (preferably 4)...so that's really only one more win in the next 4 games. Despite the crappy past 2 games against a clearly better team, Mets have a massive division lead and after this road trip they head home to play 4 against the Pirates, 4 against the Marlins, and then 3 at Wrigley against the Cubs after the AS break. Not worried in the slightest though I do hope we can get a solid pitching performance from the back end of our rotation in the Yankee series.. |

If the Red Sox are a "clearly better team" than the Mets, I don't see how Chicago doesn't sweep the playoffs and repeat this year.

Because we're not in late September yet. It's never about the best team, it's always about the hottest good team. The Marlins have never been close to the best team and they have 2 championships.
If Chicago is playing great going into October they've got a great shot because they've got a great team. I don't care how good you are though, you aren't going to win if you don't play well. |

The Red Sox are hot right now, and nearly unbeatable at home. It irks me that some Mets fans were expecting to come in and give the Sox a run for their money despite streaky Mets pitching. Granted, I didn't expect Pedro to get walloped but still, I wasn't expecting more than a win at the most. Bottom line: Mets need to get a starter in a bad way, otherwise there is little chance they'll make it past the NLCS. Hell, at this point I'd even consider giving Darren Oliver a start. He's a former starter, pitches long relief now, and seems to have had a sudden career revival. Go with the hot pitcher rather than run Trachsel or El Sucke out there every 5 days. |

The Red Sox are hot right now, but it's only against NL teams. Right before interleague play started we got swept by the Twins. Winning 11 straight is great, but I'm not fully confident til they start winning against AL teams again.

Wow Huston Street is easily a top 5 closer in baseball but with Ken macha managing it doesn't matter. 2 outs, he tells Street to intentionally walk the .775 OPS to get to the .969 OPS. Seeing eye single later and Street has 2 ER and a blown save

Mets finally get a 2-0 lead on the Sox only to let them tie it right back up next half inning |

12 in a row, even if it is againest the National league still pretty legit. Mets are seen as a top 5 team in baseball by just about everyone so im happy with it.
Lets see if they can keep this shit going for the rest of the season. Hopefully this can be year when the Red Sox can finally pull away from everyone in the AL East and actaully win it for once. We'll see tho |

Haha the Twins have a pink backpack like that too. Usually some rookie carries it out and it's filled with candy and stuff.

41-39 (39-30 if we didn't have to play the A's) and in second place ahead of Texas (What?? Everyone picked them to win the division again and for the 27th straight year their fading in June???) and the Angels. Too bad second in the AL West means like 10th in the Wild card

Seriously, I honestly think Detroit is gonna take it all the way this year, so I'm gonna be watching the All-Star Game VERY closely, cuz as the advertisements say, THIS ONE COUNTS...and if the Tigers DO win the AL pennant this year, and the AL comes up with the win, all Detroit's gotta do is get through the playoffs to the World Series (all on Home Field advantage, I might add...) and then obliterate whoever stands in their way whether it be the White Sox, RED Sox, Yankees whoever...DETROIT is going to have AT LEAST 1 TEAM with the best record in the regular season for a sport and have SOMETHING TO SHOW FOR IT (and we all know what happened to the Pistons and the Red Wings...unfortunately, plus we all know the Lions are still gonna blow major ass when they start up again, no matter who the coaches and/or players are, or what their transparent gameplan for every week is.) |

Detroit is yet to beat the White Sox in a series, Kenny Rogers has a history of fading and Magglio Ordonez has a history of getting injured. The Tigers should make the playoffs, but the White Sox have better, more experienced pitching throughout and for two straight years have gotten the most timely hitting you can ever ask for.

When I go to California next month, I am going to a Chico Outlaws game. (Golden Baseball league. It is an independent league.) We're tryingt to get tickets to when they play the San Diego Surf Dawgs because Ricky Henderson plays for them and Jose Conseco is their DH and/or pitcher I think.

The thing about Papelbon though, as with any other young player, he's only been dominating for 3 months. Big leaguers will eventually figure him out. Remember when Francoeur was hitting like .450 for a while last year? Look at him now. Ryan has been pitching in the AL for 8 years and hitters are still fucking clueless. I'd be quite surprised if by season's end Papelbon's ERA is withing shouting distance of Ryan's.
