Astros get:
3B/OF Aubrey Huff DRays get: SP Mitch Talbot (AA) SS Ben Zobrist (AA) Two pretty decent prospects for Huff who is kinda shit. Makes sense for both teams though, Houston needs offense to get back into the race and TB needs more arms |

What position does Huff play anyways? I remember him being a first, third and outfielder, was that right? If so, it looks like he will be in the outfield in Houston.

I have no clue how they're going to position Ensberg, Huff, Wilson, Lamb, and Lane and find at-bats for all those guys. Trade Ensberg?

I thought Burke was one of Houstons best players? Also, isn't Lane pretty old now? Like mid-30's?

Lane is 28.
Burke? He's ok, better than Everett but so is the pizza man who just delivered this pepperoni delight |

Huff has slow starts every year. It just seems he get hot later and later each year. It wouldn't surprise me to see him get 20-25 HRs by season's end. Mind you it wouldn't surprise me to see him finish with 12 either.

I don't know much about Houston, but it would seem to me that this would be the best way to find AB's for everyone while still keeping a good offense:
C: Biggio 1B: Huff/Berkman 2B: Burke SS: Lamb 3B: Ensberg LF: Huff/Berkman CF: Taveras RF: Wilson ...of course this would assrape them defensively as Lamb's never played short and Biggio hasn't caught since 1991, so that won't work. Lamb HAS played 2B, but for all of 2 innings so switching him with Burke won't work either. But yeah, odds are they just platoon Huff and Ensberg...a shame really since I think Ensberg's gonna come back to form Last edited by Evil Vito; 07-12-2006 at 11:38 PM. |

I dunno about Berkman in the second slot, the amount of runs he's knocked in would surely dictate him going in the 3rd or 4th?

He was doing it by position, not batting order.
Anyway, Ausmus plays, so no |

Frank Thomas sues White Sox doctors
http://chicagosports.chicagotribune....s-sports-print I wonder what Ken Harrelson would have to say about this... probably absolutely nothing for 3 innings, because it's something bad about the White Sox |

Nationals get:
OF Austin Kearns SS Felipe Lopez RP Ryan Wagner (AAA) Reds get: RP Gary Majewski SS Royce Clayton RP Bill Bray 2B Brendan Harris (AAA) SP Daryl Thompson (A) LOL what the FUCK is Cincinnati thinking? All they could get for Kearns and Lopez was... um... nothing? Majewski is decent and Bray is a nice prsopect but still, wow what a rape. This trade would be unanimously vetoed if it were in Fantasy Baseball. Last edited by The Miz; 07-13-2006 at 04:06 PM. |

Lester on the hill tonight, he's been pitching well but he is due for a loss by now - hopefully the Sox can bang out like 8 runs againest Loaiza just incase.

Hopefully? 8 runs off of Loaiza is like being shut out. Red Sox should be embarrased to score 8 off that clown

6.43 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 4.02 K/9, 1.19 K/BB
He has actually been "okay" since coming off the DL but still wow, worst Beane move ever. They're stuck with him for 2 more years after this too. Now Beane isn't going to be able to re-sign Zito, well that was a $21 mil well spent Billy ![]() |

According to ESPNews, the Yankees have signed Sidney Ponson for the remainder of the season.

I don't think the Red Sox would though if Matt Clement didn't get hit with the ball about 7 times over the course of one year. He tries to say the ball hitting him so much has no effect on him but thats bullshit, he made the All Star team last season but has been shit ever since he got hit. Now he is a 9 mil/year waste of space. |

Yeah but on Beane's budget, that was an incredibly stupid signing. The Yankees can do shit like that because if Loaiza sucks then so what, $7 mil per is nothing to them. There are guys in AAA or on the market for less than a million who could do the same thing Loaiza is doing and then Beane would have an extra $7 million to re-sign Zito.
Zito signed Boras as his agent though so 5 yr/60 mil is probably a starting point. Enjoy Zito in Boston next year Stima. |
