Online features are very ambitious. Seems like the Japanese devs are starting to get it.

  • The online mode of Soul Calibur V is divided essentially into two sections: Player Match and the Global Coliseum.
  • Player Match: players can create special rooms, access to challenge friends in single match or in small tournaments.
  • Viewers can leave comments in a chat room.
  • Global Colosseum is an Extended Lobby, which can access up to 50 Players.
  • Each player is represented by a card (which can be customized with a number of options).
  • UI very “visual” and easily readable.
  • Selecting a player card, you can check stats and challenge a Player.
  • In the MIddle of Colosseo there are two section.
  • Random Match is always available.
  • Players can place their card for random matches.
  • The other area is dedicated to the Ranked Match. It will not always active: will light up about 2 times a month, for a few days.
  • Another major introduction is the Soul Link. You can choose up to three players to be monitored constantly to keep an eye on their stats and activities. (A sort of Autolog)
  • Soul Calibur V servers are located in the Tokyo office,
  • Netcode is very stable.

Kilk, Elysuim, and an evil version of Pyrrha (Omega Pyrrha) are rumored to be the final unannounced characters for the game based on a suppossed leak of the character select screen for the game's final roster.

It would also confirm Talim and Zasamel are not in the game itself.

Random q. I have soul calibur two and three. I could probably get a dreamcast and soul calibur pretty cheap (plus powerstone ftw). I don't have 4 ... I've heard its not rally as good and from what I remember sheet playing it wasn't...

Should I still pick up 4 is it "worth it?" Or tekken six ( I have tekken five and tag tournament already)

3DS current rumored to be getting a version of the game although the source is just a "retailer insider" who says the game has been added to the pre-order database.

Would also end up being the first Soul Calibur game to be on a Nintendo system since SC 2 on the Gamecube. The Wii did get a Soul Calibur game but was more of a spin-off than an actual game in the series.

Hoping that Ivy returns to form in this. I got into this series at 2, and Ivy was easily the most fun character to play imo, with her multiple stances and such. Then they went and gutted her in 3 and she didn't really get any better in 4. It's kept me from getting really into series, because I was nasty in 2, but never got too involved with 3 and 4.

Honestly, with UFC coming out in 3 weeks and SFxT shortly after that, I probably won't get hardcore about this game either way.

How many of you peeps are buying this? Would like to get it on PS3 so I can put my TE stick to good use, but if enough of you are getting it for xbox I may change my mind.

Devil Jin is apparently one of the Create a Soul movesets. I wonder how many non-default character sets there will be.

First three DLC packs got announced with all of them arriving in February and about $2 each.

I checked the computers at work today, and Eb Games doesn't have anything listed yet for a 3ds version. It would be cool though.

That sucks hard. Was the only character I really cared about in the series (Save Kilik, Spawn, and now Ezio). Also wanted to make Kite with that moveset. Dammit.

Saw a video of the game. Interested in Create A Character but I wont be getting it until the price drops quite a bit so I'll be a while.

I'm trying to find a video that shows you everything in CaC but I can't find anything indepth that doesn't have a guy talking over it. I'm curious what the voices and weapons you can give your character are and if there is a kilt.

They've had unlocking weapons forever. The number of weapons to unlock has been steadily decreasing each iteration tho.
