GOLD. Nobody does this stuff better than WWE and I personally love it, especially when they get a crowd to bite on the inevitable "big nearfall". Not as good as other matches as the same variety but still fun.

the turn itself feels a bit underwhelming but it got the job done and the crowd bought it. The Chyna swerve leading to this was a nice touch, Kane being cemented as the big sympathetic babyface (which was a huge "life extension" to his character) etc were all nice touches. All GOLD. The best part of the whole thing though is Billy Gunn bumping and feeding like an absolute trooper, makes Triple H look like a beast. |

There isn't much to be said about this really. Although "it was better than the main event of WrestleMania" between the same two guys sums it up quite well. Solid GOLD. Go watch it now if you haven't seen it. Plus HBK goes over clean!

This was just okay I think, nothing too great or too bad. I have to go with GOLD just because of Jericho's fondness of the whole angle and his mindset about the reasoning for it/desire to do it again in the future. The kind of thing some mutie would inevitably have kicked off about only to feel like the bellend that they are/actually learn something when hearing Jericho talk about. The Work 1 The Mutie 0. |

I'd like to thank you for your honest opinion, CSL. I wonder if we could both turn over a new leaf and forget these last several years of hostility towards one another and go back to being on good terms, but by all means don't take my simple plea as a demand for friendship, just a humble request.

hot shit, went "out of my way" to watch this not long ago aka pick up the DVD off my shelf and place it in the PS3, which I don't do very often with wrestling. But yeah, GOLD. Not as good as the Mania match but still better than 99% of things in wrestling. You could blindfold them and they'd still be GOLD.

![]() this is the definition of wrestling GOLD. I've always thought that the one of the biggest accomplishments you can achieve as a pro wrestler is when people know your show/profession is a work yet you still make them ask "was that real?" And this was probably the most famous example of that, possibly in the history of the business. |

I have. It's certainly GOLD as oppose to GASH but I wouldn't say it's the best cruiserweight match ever (but obviously that's subjective) watching "early" Rey Mysterio stuff is always fun. He certainly wasn't the worker he went on to be at the time in terms of match structure and pacing and doing things at the "right time" etc but given it was before he'd started to break down a bit, he could do some truly spectacular stuff without turning the match into a shitarse-fest. The skinny guys of today could really take not from this kind of stuff.

Given the circumstances, the potential for what it could and should have been aka absolutely fucking HUGE Mania main event worthy, the fact we all knew it was both of their last nights, the general "tone", the crowd, how it's remembered and so forth, it would seem a pretty safe bet for the GASH column. But Goldberg's gorilla press into a spinebuster on a legitimate 290lb guy and making it look easy might be the single most impressive physical thing I've ever seen in professional wrestling and given the fact I'm a fan of both guys, I have to go GOLD. But it should have been SO much more.
"PRICE CHECK ON THE JACKASS!" Hilarious. Austin at his "entertainment" funniest and Booker more than played his part also. Complete GOLD. I enjoyed this. Maybe others saw it coming but I didn't at the time, the "dawning realization" that "shit, those are all ECW guys" as they did the slow turn schtick was a cool moment. And WCW definitely needed help in terms of recognized and "established" guys and this was a decent enough way of going about it. Head and shoulders the 2 biggest "plus points" however were Heyman getting a decent spot for the whole angle (cut some of the best promos of the entire angle behind Austin and maybe Vince) and the introduction of RVD to WWE, who blew up almost instantly/was main eventing PPV's within months/showing the audience something they hadn't really seen before. GOLD. Although, much like Goldberg/Brock at Mania, it should have been so much more. |
