And if you don't mind used, I'm sure quite a few great conditioned ones will go up for fairly cheap because they'll be upgrading to the Elite version.

I don't mind used as long as it's in great condition. I'm always weary of buying used, but at the same time I know there are honest people like me who take care of their electronics and if there's something wrong with it, will mention it.

I do really want one though. Nintendo isn't doing anything, really, in the online department. Which is sad because they have a fun little machine.

I've loved GTA III, VC, and SA. I even loved the demo I played of the first GTA (Never had a computer until recently so I never got to play the full versions of the first 2). This game will be amazing. I just need more games that I want to get a 360. I want to wait another year or two, but at the same time don't want to not play GTA for that long.

I think they have, sort of. It looks like the statue isn't holding the torch but something else and the hat thing looks different. Maybe it's just the angle.

What if the russian guy turns out to be Claude Speed after aging a few years and returning to LC. Never heard Claude talk so he could be russian. It's so unlikely I'm right, it wasn't worth mentioning but I did.

^Doesn't look anything like Claude, unless he had plastic surgery.

Graphics look predictably beautiful. I hope it won't just be Liberty City tho, I want some new areas.

I know. If Rockstar can change the face of Max Payne from one game to another then nothings stopping them doing the same to Claude but yeah you're right.

BTW the trailers on youtube and all these guys are arguing over weither it's LC or NY. Some can't even tell if the guy is Russian or an Arab.

It can be just Liberty City and I'll be fine with it, if it features ridiculously in-depth (like it appears to be) all 5 boroughs. Of course I have no 360 or PS3 and really don't want to buy one, but man I am pumped for this game.

Alright, i just had this totally CRAZY theory, beyond crazy actually. WHAT IF the BIG surprise for this game is that you can travel between ANY of the THREE CITIES? Dude, that would be dope as fuck. Idk why, but it seems possible. BEacuse think about it, imigrants come into USA from new york most of the time, especially from the other side of the pond like russia...hmmmm. what if when he said "maybe this place is diffrent." he didnt mean liberty city....but the USA?

Looking back, I've had a few thoughts with what I wouldl like to see from this game.

If the fight escalates and his friends come to help, you can walk over to the pool area, take a cue and use that as a weapon. That's just one scenario that has came to mind. Another is that while walking down the street, seeing someone carrying a bag of groceries and being able to snatch an apple or other food item when you need food.

- I agree with JV's idea. You need more ways to interact with the city. I liked the idea with being able to go into fast food outlets, into clothing shops and other places but I think you can do much better. You've got the sporting arena where you have to do the racing and the demolition derby. Why not make it possible to buy a ticket to watch it? You could even place a bet on who is going to win (taking the idea from SA). There's a department store a few blocks away. We should be able to go into it and cause havoc. Shoplifting, vandalism, whatever takes your fancy. Cinemas, museums, towers. I know it's impossible right now, but one day, I'll like to be able to walk down a street in a game and be able to walk into any building I see.

- Make the weapons upgradable. I'll like to see the possibility of being able to buy not only new guns, but better scopes, laser sights, different ammunition, silencers, maybe even larger magazines. I suppose you could be outrageous and attach an grenade launcher to a rifle, but I think that's a bit over the top and if you wanted that, you could play BF2.

- Multiplayer. I'll like to see some type of online gameplay where you could join a gang/clan and compete against other gangs in terriority wars or with your team, have a co-op game where you can ride around together, causing chaos. Of course, lag is going to be a major hurdle to deal with so I don't know how you'll deal with that, perhaps it could restrict who plays against who by their IP address.

I've got some other ideas, but I've rambled on way too long and I'm curious if anyone else has any other thoughts.

Look at the multiplayer for the gta's for pc....
Never seen lag on those

Yeah, PC to PC wouldn't a problem, but I have no idea how good/bad the lag is on the 360 or the PS3. If it's fine, then no worries. One less reason to not have multiplayer for GTAIV.

Downloaded it on XBL this morning, it looks amazing, graphics wise. Will be interesting to see if any of the gameplay has changed.

SA, LC and VC would never fit on the 360's disk. PS3's, probably, but if the detail is anything near that of the trailer, it'll be impossible to fit them on the 360 without requiring a network and a pretty big HDD.

That's not strictly true, map size took up a small part of disc space in San Andreas. It was the audio that took up about half of the disc space. Sounds weird, but its entirely true. Especially when you look how HUGE Saints Row was, and that was on the 360.

Saw the trailer 5 mins before most people, watched it a few times, then R*s site broke down, Couldn't even ping it.

Not sure how they will go about fitting a new improved Liberty City into the storyline, mabye the shoreside 'Upstate' tunnel has something to do with it.

Oh and it is Liberty City, check out the signs on the Boats etc. and the LCPD on the police car.

Draw distance is good, and the shadows look great. Not sure about a russian main character though. Kinda tired of the whole mob thing.

Yeah, its mad. Personally I have no idea why Audio would take up the most content Mabye it's how many tracks, plus the constant streaming (Because it doesn't pick up from where you left off if you get out of the car, wait a bit and get back in.) Either way it uses shit loads of disc space.

Basically, the maps are not what takes the space. Rockstar could have added another big city to SA without having to goto dual layer discs. The biggest part of GTA is the audio.

Beta testing SA sized maps makes it nearly impossible to find and fix all the graphical glitches because they are not gonna pay 100s of beta testers to go find them. GTA3 had a few glitches here and there nothing major. VC comes around and you find a little more then you did in GTA3. Now you have SA and you find the major glitches which are everywhere and easy to find.

Just watched the trailer and i am very impressed.

Finally GTA will look as good as it plays.

I will be buying a 360 just for this game, fuck spending all the dough required for PS3.

Why are people trying to argue that it's not Liberty City? I thought that was kind of clear with the numerous signs. Liberty Ferry Terminal, the Liberty Ferry, Liberteen, "Liberty City" under the Platypus, LCPD, the statue of liberty. Alright, that last one might not fit but still.

Also, it's only been assumed that the Russian is the main character. I wouldn't doubt that it's not, but still a chance. At first I was disappointed, but now I'm kind of looking forward to playing as him.

Couple other small things. First, if you watch the video again you can see when the guy in the blue car is driving that he readjusts his rear view mirror. I'm thinking that shows some pedestrian AI improvement already.

Also, there has been talk online of multiple cities (LC, VC, and SA) in the game because at the beginning of the trailer there is a sign in the background that says "Visit Vice City $300". Pretty sure you need to sharpen it in photoshop and stuff but it's there. I can't imagine how big this game would be if that were true though. Took me forever to get from one side of San Andreas to the other. Imagine doing that and then going across two other cities.

Just watched the trailer.

Pretty impressive. Too bad we're going back to Liberty City. We've been east, south, and west. I was hoping we go someplace in the central U.S. (A spinoff of Chicago or Detroit.)

As for being a Russian? I don't know. Kinda reminds me of Lord of War. Starting out in Little Odessa/Brighton Beach and working your way up/out.

What if the russian guy is a main character but he's not you? If he's in the next trailer then he probably is you but maybe in the next trailer we'll see someone else. Didn't R* show a pic of a black guys face and everyone assumed that was the main guy or was that fake?I don't have an Xbox360 or a Ps3 and I'm gonna get a Wii. I'd like to play GTA IV but I'm not buying a console just for one game, if more games for the Xbox/Ps3 interest me, then maybe I'll get one. Alternatively I can wait until my sisters gotten the game for her 360 and play it over there .

I hope this isn't setting a trend. The last two generations had Liberty City. I really hope the sequel to GTA 4 won't be Vice City. Not that the amount of detail they could put into it won't be awesome, but I would like to see some new cities.

BEtter yet, GTA germany with an actual autobahn....IMAGINE the chaos you could cause on that stretch of road? Just stopping the car would cause more accidents then if you tried to cause one any other way.....Porsche doing 120 and all of a sudden BAM...right into your dinky peugot sending it FLYING.

I'm hoping that by setting it in LC (And having Chicago and Detroit as Possibilities, someone claimed they've seen IV stickers in Chicago) we'll see a return of Rise FM. Been listening to the old GTA3 mixes by Slyder. Gotta say it sounds euphoric.
