Devin Harris to the Jazz for Marvin Williams? The hawks came out like gang busters, but Josh Smith has gotta want to get out of dodge now. Two Dribble hogs do not make a good team.
Joe 'why the fuck do you have a max contract' Johnson is going to account for 40% of his teams salary cap in the last year of his deal! That's 2015! He's Thirty Fucking One! The Nets are fucked and New Jersey has to be laughing their asses off |

Orlando should jump on that trade before the Nets regret it, honestly.

Williams, Johnson, Howard would be a perfect Big 3 scenario though as far positions/skills. Way better than Miami's and probably better than Boston's.

Not saying the talent is greater cause clearly Miami's talent is the best, but the position fits are so perfect.

Yeah, I agree. They would be a pretty well balanced powerhouse of a team, it that is a whole lot to give up. I suppose there are risks to take when going for a championship, but if this doesn't work out or of Dwight's back acts up again, the Nets are fucked for a long time. But if it does work out, there a championship right around the corner. Not a ridiculously bad trade, but it is a whole lot to give up. Is say better for the Magic

Jesus, Raptors completely screwed the Knicks chances of trading for Nash by offering Fields a $20M deal. Knicks can match the offer (which Fields isn't worth at all) but if they do they can't trade him. Chances are they let him walk now.
Pretty obvious they did it to block a Nash trade to the Knicks. Fields would have been the main piece to get Nash since apparently the Suns liked him. If they offer Fields that I hate to think what teams will offer Lin. |

I don't know if this is just more expert bullshit from ESPNs analysts, but the Hawks getting in on the Howard sweepstakes is interesting and kind of makes sense. Dwight's from Atlanta and was the best man at Josh Smith's wedding so I don't think they'd mind playing together. Horford, Teague and a few future first rounders is just as good talent wise as what the Nets would offer. Plus (again this is according to the ESPN "experts") the Hawks would still have room to make a run at Chris Paul next summer.

Can't lie, D Will, Howard, Johnson and Wallace is a pretty strong 4. Can you imagine how much better that team would be if Dwight wasn't so wishy washy and didn't opt into his contract with Orlando so they'd be able to sign him without giving up any talent?

Hawks did clear a ton of cap space while the Nets basically admitted they can't afford Howard without severe cap penalties (used their cap exception on the Joe Johnson deal) or gutting more of their team to make room for Howard's salary like the rumored trade a few posts above.
Don't think he'd really want to go to Atlanta because most of the big stars these days only want to play for big markets (ex. LA, NY area) or attractive locations (ex. Miami) to form their Big Threes. |

You're probably right. But Dallas was on his short list as well and that's not necessarily a big market or as attractive as Miami or L.A. either. I think Atlanta hasn't been much of a destination because ownership and management have been so incompetent for so long.

Dwight Howard should do a special called "The INdecision". |

Nets resign Deron Williams with a 5 year, $98 million deal. If they barely had the money for Howard before, they definitely don't now unless they really gut the team badly just to come up with some minimum money for Howard. I think between Johnson and Williams, they eat up over 75% of the cap assuming its in the $61 million range next season. Already used up their smaller mid-level cap exception on Johnson with the Hawks deal.
Dallas preparing to go after Nash a lot harder than before since Williams is gone and even have plans to get Jeremy Lin if the Knicks hesitate too long. Celtics rumored to be close to a deal with Mavs free agent Jason Terry while the Mavs admit they can't match any offers he receives. He would replace Ray Allen if Allen does leave. |

Knicks appear to be very unlikely in keeping Jeremy Lin now that the Rockets are about to offer a contract while the Knicks admit their focus is just for Nash.
Knicks are also looking for a third team in a potential Nash deal since the Knicks do not have enough assets to please the Suns with the Raptors rumored to be a potential 3rd team. Lakers did make a small offer but was rejected due to the Suns unwilling to trade within he division. |

Biggest loser in this is Toronto, since now they are screwed with Landry Fields and have no leverage on the Knicks.

Stupid ESPN saying the Suns were not interested in the Lakers offer only for the Suns to actually make a deal hours later with the Lakers.
Suns gets both draft picks in 2013 from the Lakers, a 2014 2nd round pick, and a 2015 first round pick while the Lakers get Nash but also his new 3 year $25+ million deal. Knicks seemed to have the better package for actual players though but I guess they waited too long or wanted a 3rd team involved. A bit surprised he didn't go to Dallas and reunite with Dirk for one last title push opportunity. |

And I would have preferred Toronto's draft picks over the Lakers. I would also prefer it if Nash didn't go to the Lakers. Actually if beggars can be choosers I would prefer it if Nash didn't go anywhere at all and we can redo the past 10 years with a decent owner. |

The Lakers are poised to get back to the NBA Finals, and they know that in order to beat OKC, they had to make some moves.
I wonder if they would still be able to (hypothetically) trade for Dwight Howard. |

From everything I've read, the Magic pretty much just want to trade with LA. It's the only team that would give them a legit talent at the position they are trading. Lakers and Magic would do it, but the question is will Howard sign an extension.
