ettMy eyes are on Minny/Chicago this week. Minny could, with a sweep, tie Chicago for the WC.
Didn't realize what a turn around they'd hadI am going to go out on a limb here, and predict the AL Central Final Standings as being Detroit Minnesota Chicago Cleveland (lol, definately the biggest team bust of the year) Kansas City |

Minnesota will be ridiculous to face in the playoffs, facing Santana and then Liriano could easily put a team down 0-2 in a series. I am hoping they don't make the playoffs lol, should probably worry about the Yankees making it first before who they might face.

Um... Razor? You seem to have left out a certain team in the NL Central.
I'll help out with that one - Milwaukee Brewers: Carlos Lee (OF), Prince Fielder (1B), Chris Capuano (SP), Ben Sheets (SP), Derrick Turnbow (CL), Rickie Weeks (2B) |

You know... I think you might be right on this one. I'm not at all giving up on my beloved Sox but the Twins and Tigers are playing some GREAT baseball right now (and the last thing the Sox need to go out and get right now is more offense). |

Wow Zito got rocked, 7 ER in 5 innings. Manny, Oritz and Gonzo all took him deep.
Gonzo also made a spectacular play in the field again, this guy is nuts. I heard about him before he got here, but I didn't think he'd be THIS sick at defense. So much better than Edgar "somehow playing in the American League effects my defense" Renteria, Pretty sure Renteria blamed his problems on the infield at Fenway now that I think about it though lol Glad to see the Edgar's former Gold Glover erroritis has headed about 4 hours southwest from Boston to NYC. |

This "face of the team" talk reminded me, anyone vote yet on MLB.com (or where ever its at) for the "Face of your favorite franchise" - I am about to go do it right now, obviously voting for Ted Williams.
Who you voting for? |

![]() I hope Schilling plunks somebody tomorrow (or has a "momentarily lapse of control" as the Boston Globe will tell you) and Bradley just tries to kill him or something. Would be worth the suspension and people like Skip Bayless saying "Milton Bradley is a disgusting human being!!!!", Schilling needs a punch in the face so god damn bad |

dam Zito got shelled. I figured he would. I don't think he does well against Boston.
The AL West is a tough prediction. |

I think practically everyone was predicting the A's to have built a lead at the top of the West by now

Harold Reynolds apparently fired from ESPN. I dunno, kind of surprising, was always one of the best on BBTN.

Swisher did hit that homer last night but before that they showed a split of his stats, didn't realize he was on a huge slump the past month. That probably adds to the lack of lead in the AL West for the A's
Every division in the AL is a bit tough to predict this year, the same goes for the NL as well (well outside of the NL East) |

lol @ feliz navidad
Yeah, he seemed like a good guy and everything, wonder what he did to get fired though. I think everyone can agree that Phillips is an idiot. I dunno, I could deal with Reynolds a lot more than some of the guys on ESPN. |

Dodgers get:
RP Elmer Dessens Royals get: RP Odalis Pérez SP Blake Johnson (A) SP Julio Pimental (A) Wow, I know the Dodgers hate Pérez but giving up decent prospects just to get rid of him is a bit much. Dessens isn't that much better than Pérez anyway. I love what the Royals are doing with these last two trades, trading their mediocre to below average talent off for good but not great prospects. With the exception of Joey Gathright deal I like what this new GM is doing. Certainly not something Allard Baird would have done. |

Picking up Perez can't exactly hurt when you've been out of the race since late April to be fair! KC may aswell start trying to form a decent core in their team to build around, they won't attract any top talent as long as they're languishing in this eternal quagmire of theirs, and like you said having a decent GM has gotta put them atleast facing in the right direction
