Sandow is better on the mic than all three of those. The voice helps obviously but his promos actually have content.

Maybe I was just too young to appreciate it, but I never saw Lanny Poffo have an awesome match. I remember him more as a manager than anything.

I wouldn't call Dean Douglas the Genius 2.0, either. Not really the same gimmick, him being portrayed as an ACTUAL teacher and all. Matt Striker was pretty much Dean Douglas 2.0, though.

Either way, no reason to nay-say. Sandow is pretty fucking good.

He was never meant to be face. The turn in the crowds cheering for the bad guys and booing the good guys is what made him face. This is a pinnacle of when the wrestling fan dynamic of the business changed in the mide to late 90's. It was taboo and over the hill to cheer the guy with the big muscles that told you to say your prayers and eat your vitamins. Families stopped coming to wrestling events and the working class guys and gals who could relate with Austin's anti corporate, march to the beat of your own drum gimmick is why he started getting cheered. Hence Bret Hart being so pissed off at WM in their submission match when he got booed out the building and Austin was getting standing ovations.

I agree with everyone who's said AJ is not hot. Also I never hear anyone praise Aksana whilst I find her possibly one of the most incredible women to have been in WWE.

I find Christian so dull and can't stand most of his matches.

I don't really care for having an established tag team division.

The Hardys were not the type that did guest shots on USA shows or make appearance on Fallon and Conan but people knew them. It's anecdotal but I've dated women who did not know or watch wrestling but they knew the Hardy Boys for one reason or another. I think their style and risks made them accessible to the mainstream in one form or another.

Yep, don't get me wrong, I did *enjoy* a good percentage of what happened, but it's like has been said before, I think maybe on this board, The Attitude Era really aged badly.

For every HHH/Rock ladder match we got The Oddities, for every 'DX invades WCW' we got Mae Young and Mark Henry, and for every Lita/Trish we got Patterson vs. Briscoe in an evening gown match.

No era of pro wrestling was ever perfect, but I think people tend to look at that particular period like it was the everlasting epitome of awesome, when it was anything but.

Another post I almost completely support.

I think Swagger should have been World Champion for much longer than he was, and probably should have held the title until Survivor Series at the earliest. And even then, I don't know if he should have lost it. He was tremendous, a breath of fresh air and just needed to be pushed as a guy who could back up his spot.

Also, as much as I am sure the man behind the character is hard working, dedicated, appreciates the business and is truly a worthy person of the spot he is in -- I just cannot get behind Ryback. I find him boring, 2D and I just can't buy into it. As Skip Sheffield, I totally got behind the dude.

Can't say enough good about Jack Swagger's World Title reign. I also think that he should have won the Breakout Battle Royal and gone against John Cena at TLC in 2009, and beaten Cena there and become WWE Champion. And that Swagger's cash-in should have happened at WrestleMania. Jack Swagger would have then been the first man to have been WWE, World Heavyweight and ECW Champion, and I think it would have been a great bragging right for him.

Also, does it seem to anyone else that the WWE sort of embraced that they were presenting Swagger as a Kurt Angle clone, and then stepped away from it, before stepping back into it again?

Kind of agree with this, although I do love Ziggler. I think he can be World Champ material, but right now he's just not someone I want to see with the belt.

I haven't watched it in some time, so I'm not sure if my tastes have changed, but I feel that Billy Kidman vs. Paul London from No Mercy 2004 is one of the best professional matches I have ever seen. Seriously.

I say this as a big Paul London mark, but as someone who never really got into Kidman. I recognise that was always pretty good, but just never marked out for him like I do other guys.

lol. It's almost a joke that people praise it so much now while saying how crazy of a concept it is to have had enjoyed it.

It was Smackdown. There wasn't a lot of stock put into it. But it wasn't really anything special and it didn't get Swagger or the title over. There were some unique moments that came from it. It just didn't serve much of a purpose.

I don't get why Christian is praised.... or Swagger. I find them both boring as hell.

I find Edge to be overrated and never could consider him a legit world champ.

Yeah they didn't serve much of a purpose but they were still entertaining moments.

I mean, who could forget the best part of Swagger's title run?

SPOILER: show

Also, I said that Del Rio was slowly beginning to bore me.

Since his face turn at TLC, I'm interested in seeing where he goes. Though hopefully it's away from 6 man tag matches with The Miz and "mystery guest".

I think Survivor Series is a less important ppv than MITB.
I generally can't stand WWE from the time period after SummerSlam until the Royal Rumble/WM build begins.
