i dont know but this could be good for the main event athletes...this could sell because of the fact that its no longer "david vs goliath" and now if ray wins it would be more "believeable" instead of a giant in Big Dave and someone much small in Rey Rey

Rey and Angle work well together, it'd be nice to see them have a feud eventually for the title.

I don't think this changes the main event plans for Wrestlemania as much as some of you would like. The most likely plan was that Batista would drop the belt to Randy Orton, while John Cena would drop the WWE title to Triple H. Batista got hurt, yet Orton is still gonna be called up, you just need a strong champion to make him look better when he wins. If you read the spoilers you will know that Orton was not in the Battle Royal. Angle is merely a placeholder for Randy Orton to defeat at Wrestlemania. Angle was actually the most logical choice to become WHC. Think about it, he's no longer in a major feud with anyone. Cena has become focused on Edge. Sure, HBK was suppossed to work a program with Angle this Monday, but this would only have become a vehicle to further the HBK/Vince program. Angle was simply the BEST choice of people not currently involved in a feud.

WOW, I missed alot having to work last night. KURT FREAKIN ANGLE IS WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!!!!!!! I never wouild have believed it if I didn't see it on wwe.com. With Batista being forced to leave, they needed another big name on Smackdown, and I do believe Kurt is the right choice. I don't really care about logic right now, I just want to celebrate! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think angle being WHC will definately help with some fueds going on and it also brings the "raw vs smackdown" rivalry back into play.

the thing is...we dont know what they are going to do with angle and we can only speculate untill the RR

I like this move.

It was shocking, and it sets up SD to have some really good main events heading into Mania.

I really hope they keep Angle a face, but keep him going as a badass mofo. I swear if I see him playing a guitar next week, I'm done with WWE.

Angle-HBK which is 'still on' according to wwe.com is very interesting now. There are a lot of things they could do. I hope they dont sacrifice Angle and have McMahon completely screw over HBK, making Angle look weak.

Angle is a great guy to put over Orton at Mania, and there are lots of guys Angle can face between now and then.

Crappy hand they were dealt with Batista, but it looks like they made lemonade out of the whole thing.

From reading that, I have a funny feeling this is going to happen on RAW next Monday.

Angle VS HBK is still on and everything is going to plan (On RAW). HBK and Angle are in the ring but Vince comes out and says that the match is now for the World Heavyweight Title. He also says that he'll stay at ringside and give some reason for doing so. Like "I haven't seen a Title match with my own eyes for some time now."

Anyway, HBK is winning and Vince doesn't like it. He talks to Daivari and Daivari causes a distraction. Vince gets in the ring with a chair and hits HBK of the head with it.

Angle pins but only gets 2. It keeps going like that until Vince interferes again. He goes to hit HBK but HBK moves out of the way and he nearly hits Angle. Vince turns around and HBK is coming at him with a Super Kick. Vince runs out of the way and HBK hits Angle.

HBK pushes Vince out of the ring causing him to land on Daivari. HBK pins and gets the 3.

New Champ and more viewers.
