I started playing SA just to fuck around a few weeks ago. GTA is the only series I have wanted to use cheats for. It's just so awesome to input the weapons and health cheat and go on a fucking rampage.

I know two of the three weapon tier codes by heart.

Here's some key points:

The protagonist's name is Niko Bellic - an Eastern European immigrant who has come to Liberty City to live the "American Dream." The game is set in Liberty City in 2007, but it is bigger than the Liberty City we saw in GTA III.

Rockstar have recreated 4 of the 5 boroughs in New York, as well as part of New Jersey. Broker is the GTA IV equivalent of Brooklyn, Manhattan is now called Algonquin, Queens is now Dukes, the Bronx is Bohan, and New Jersey is Alderney. The map is smaller than San Andreas, but considerably more detailed. No countryside or desert, we are led to believe.

Pedestrians are far more realistic in GTAIV than in previous GTA games - they sit on benches, smoke cigarettes, read books and generally act like any real pedestrian would in the middle of a street.

The camera angle behind the car is closer to the vehicle than in previous GTA titles, which enables more detail on the car to be seen.

Your character uses a cellphone which has options for Phonebook, Messages, Organizer and Camera on it's LCD screen.

As Bellic walks, you can feel the weight behind each step he makes. Variations in the terrain cause realistic changes in the walking animation.

Rockstar consulted crime experts and ex-policemen when making the game, and they learned that being a criminal is a lot harder these days than it was during the 80s and 90s (for example) and they have tried to reflect this in the game. This means you can expect to see a lot of people getting arrested - the police are a heavy presence in Liberty City.

There are no planes in GTA IV because there is only one city, and Rockstar want the game to seem realistic.

After an initial load sequence, the game will never load again. Not even during exterior-interior transitions (and vice versa).

Both versions of the game (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) will likely be identical, but the Xbox 360 version will have exclusive downloadable episodic [sizeable] content.

GTA IV will have multiplayer, but it's not going to be a massively multiplayer online game, says Dan Houser. They are trying to make something that is interesting, fun, progressive and which goes along nicely with the single-player game.

Can't say I'm upset about the lack of planes. The flight lessons in San Andreas are headache-inducing. I will miss planes randomly crashing into the middle of the street though.

I knew there'd be no planes as soon as I learned it was set in NY with actual buildings. It would take about 2 seconds before someone decides to crash a plane into the Empire State Building and everyone gets outraged.

The planes not being there is very good news, I found that the hardest part of SA by a mile......especially that fucking little model one!

I can't wait for this to come out.....although i will have to kiss goodbye to my social life.

Supply Lines? Yeah, that was frustating but once you know what to do, it's not that difficult. For me, the hardest part of SA was the NRG-500 challenge. Probably the most annoying part of the game and one that took me a month to complete.

Also, even though planes aren't in, I would expect helicopters to be flyable.

The firetruck part was confusing. It said car and I thought it meant firetruck. But it meant my car. Everytime the car hit 0 I'd die and be like. OMFG CHEATERS!! But then I found out it meant your car and I killed the crooked cops. The ending was fun.

Please let this game be online free roam where you can kill anyone at anytime with snipers so it could be like a riot city.

Well, I'm sure there will be planes in the sky as well. But if they're keeping planes unflyable because they're worried about realism, I don't see why copters would be available.

Helicopters are usually used for short trips, like, say, across a river or a city, planes are used for longer distances (usually).

I'm not arguing anything. I'd love to have copters, planes, or both flyable. But I'm just saying that if one's not in, why would they have the other?

When Rockstar says realism, I'm guessing what they mean is they don't want to have to put in invisible walls in the sky to keep planes from flying wherever. Copters could do that just as easily, so why put them in?

I took it as you wouldn't see a plane fly across the city, but a helicopter you would.

It just makes sense to have copters in, especially since they have to have collision detection on them anyway (assuming that they're in for the police, which they probably are). If it's already in there, just adding controls and adding a few spawn points wouldn't hurt anything.

There were copters for the police in GTA3 as well. But they weren't flyable.

If they don't have planes due to the NY location, that's cool. Just respect really from R*.

I do hope they'll have choppers though, because I'm hoping this is gonna be ONE BIG MASSIVE HUUUUGE GAME! WOOP-WOOP!

And that cars will move out the way when you pap ur horn at them. Nitrus was a stupid idea when ur blazing away then a car just turns into you randomly. Plain annoying. But ach, nothing near to them. Love these games.

They said it would be close to the size of San Andreas. So it will be big, but not anything beyond.

I really can't see them putting in helicopters this time. Not many people know how to hijack a helicopter and I see them using this as a valid point against them. Plus, they're going to have trains and subways which will probably be used to get you from one side of the city to another. So I'll rephrase that first sentence and say that I can see them putting them in, but I don't think they will.

Well, this is just fucking great...fucking just beat the game not even a full 3 days ago, and now the piece of shit says "Load Failed! Now restarting game." And I figure it's either the enormity of the amount of cheats I used, and still continued to save despite the warning, or the fact that I switched into a cop outfit and saved, which I don't know how that would cause it, but I had heard that Madd Dogg (as you're getting closer to the Los Santos return missions) mission likes to mess up on people who use cheats on it to beat it, but it didn't give me that error until after I had beaten the game...*SIGH* oh well, such is life, guess I'll just wait for GTA IV, as I can no longer try to satisfy my GTA craving with crap like VCS...

u have to cheat over 100 times for the madd dogg mission to fuck u up... and after it u can cheat all u want

That was because of development issues, same applies bikes. There is a rumour, that says that the reason there are no planes is because of the 9/11 incident. A few things said in the Gameinformer special that DS didn't mention:

Weapon, Money, armour and health cheats wont cause Madd Dogg to jump off the building, however, a large amount of the other cheats will cause him to jump off without having a chance to save him.

Oh and some missions dissallow cheats, like the Ran Fa Li mission in the 4x4, if you put the health cheat in to repair the car, the back of it pops off and its mission failed.

I think we'll see Helicopters, you could always find them on the roof of expensive properties or police stations. I think the thing with the planes was because of it doesn't really match up on Bellics character and they wanted to improve that. Like CJ flying a jetpack, I can imagine Niko driving Bikes, Cars, Boats, Helicopters, Mabye even trains. But not planes, besides, they'll probably be just one airport, which makes flying and landing a bit pointless.

I am in a situation now to buy a PS3. I have 2 options of high schools I can go to. If I go to Mckinley Tech I will wear uniforms and will not have to pay for clothes. If I go to Roosevelt I will have to pay 700$ for clothes. I want a PS3 bad. Who knows maybe it will come out on PS2 later. And I'll miss having a black character for San Andreas. Hope its not too different.

Ah, Planes randomly crashing was the shit. I remmber on the 'Madd Doggs Rhymes' mission, going up to his home in the hills felt like a complete trek, and as I was going up the hill I heard this really weird sounding plane, I look back and the fucker crashes right into a Taxi behind me, made me fucking jump.

Also, I had an AMAZING pic stored on my ingame gallery: I was doing the Photo ops in San Fierro, and I was taking the picture of the Towers in foster valley, and a plane with smoke pouring out of it, flew right between the towers straight at me, I saved the pic which looked incredible, then ran down the hill I was standing on to avoid it.

It tried to go over the hil but it was smoking and didn't make it, so it crashed back down and blew up, and the burned out chassis was grinding down the hill, with me running away from it indiana jones style. One of my greatest GTA moments.

Another one, was when I was in the countryside and I got the Hippy Van (Camper) and took it to the top of the hill and slowly pushed it to the edge. Just as it is about to start going down the hill, I jump on the roof and crouch down to 'surf' on it. I've done this a few times, but one particular time, as It was going down the hill, there was a small river with a jump formed from a slope of grass. I managed to stay on the van as it went over the little river. So cool. I'm gonna post some GTA videos here.

Another amazing fun thing to do on 2-Player, is to out the 'Cars Float When Hit' cheat on, then make sure you and the othe have katanas/whatever weapon you want. Hit a parked car, then jump on the roof, wait till you are floating really high up then start to fight to the death, its amazing, especially when you both have parachutes.
