Well RBI is a terrible way to measure something like that. A better way would be that Loretta is hitting .270/.323./.279 with RISP. And singles hitters just dont drive in runs.

RBI is a shit stat because it's team dependent and uncomparable. You can't take two guys on diff teams with 39 RBIs and say "well these 2 have been equally good at driving runs in"

TB might make that trade because they can't afford Lugo. Although if they went to arbitration with him and lost, they be compensated a 1 rounder and a sandwich pick... if I understand the process properly.

Lugo's last arby year was 2005, they can't go to arbitration with him. He's a free agent this year. There are alot of teams interested in Lugo so I'd be surprised if Loretta was all they could get for him. Lugo is obviously gone from TB after this year so if say Boston signs him, TB will have their own first round pick, Boston's first round pick, and an additional pick at the end of the first round. It could be in the 2nd round though, depending on how Lugo's stats look at the end of the year and what free agent level they "class" him. I'm sure he'll be type A though becaue of how crappy SS are these days

Lohse had been on the trading block for weeks after opening the season in the Minnesota rotation but losing his spot. With the Reds, he will have more opportunities to pitch as well as help a Cincinnati staff that has added six pitchers via trade since July 6. The Twins received an high-ceiling Class A pitching prospect in Ward.

I like Roberto and Perez is a decent enough pickup....see if he reverts to form in Norfolk

Losing Nady isn't a huge loss....he was good but I think you can get by with Chavez. #8 hitter anyway

But motherfuck @ Sanchez. Highly doubt a move for a starter is made in the next 15 minutes, so essentially the team got worse at the trade deadline
