Manny Ramirez is a mediocre outfielder but a hall of fame offensive player. Fair trade off I'd say. Same with Tejada, poor defensively, but the offensive production makes his defensive shortcomings well worth it

Duh. That doesn't mean he shouldn't move to third. Who cares if he's Miguel "Fucking" Tejada, he should be willing to move if it helps the team. And it would, because Tejada sucks at SS and Cabrera has been one of the best. Tejada was never a team player anyway so it doesn't surprise me.

Infact isn't 3B a lot less demanding physically than SS?

He could do some more HGH and bulk up his 5 ft 9 frame some more, maybe get 50 jacks instead of 40!

Anyway, I'd far rather have Cabrera there. Also, A-Rod managed to move over 3B and not let his ego get in the way, granted he makes up for it with his press idiocy and occasionally defensive stinkers but yknow, he's just as good a run producer as Tejada and a far better SS.

A-Rod would move to any position so he didn't upset anyone, he has been trying so hard to get "accepted" since he started playing for the Yankees its hilarious. The guy won the MVP and still worries about getting boo'd like what more can you do as a baseball player? Now he has let all that go to his head and has been playing Kevin Millar style defense out there.

Somebody just asked me if I could ever play for the Yankees, I really don't think I could. Like if I was good enough to play in the majors and all that, I could never play for them. That is how bad I hate them, I would write up a special condition in my contract saying I could never be traded to the Yankees.

Like it makes me sick to see that some little league teams around here are called The Yankees, like why do they need to use the Yankees? There is 32 teams in the majors, I don't there is 32 teams in the 8 year old little league.

The Lowell Spinners (Red Sox Single A team) started paying teams (well not with money, but new free uniforms) to get rid of the Yankee name on their little league team, I thought that was awesome.

lol yeah my little league team was the Yankees. There were 10 teams in the league and Yankees and Red Sox were team names every year but the other 8 changed. THE MIZ EXPERIENCED EAST COAST BIAS AS A 9 YEAR OLD BOY.

Yknow the East Coast bias in the US is just the same as the London bias here, Anglo-America started in the North-East and spread out, everything of note can be found in he NE and is generally run from there, and additionally Baseball was also big there long before it made its way out east Beyond Chicago wasn't it?

Baseball is really the only sport where you hear a lot more about east coast teams compared to teams from other regions. Maybe basketball a little bit too but that is pretty tough to say due to teams like the LA Lakers and Spurs (recently) being everywhere.

People try to claim that there is a bias againest West Coast college football but I don't really see how that is at all. Seeing how college football isn't even that big on the east coast (No big time teams from anywhere in the Northeast) plus USC is everywherrrrrrre.

Really can't see one in the NFL, but I'm not surprised since the NFL is currently the best league in American professional sports.

At one point it was rumored that Johnny Damon had just that type of clause in his contract when he first signed with Boston. See how far that got him.

I don't care what team it is, if the money is right... you will play.

If I didn't fuck up my arm and leg (and if I was good enough to make the majors), my dream was to play for the White Sox. I mean... come on... I grew up 2 blocks from old Comiskey Park. I was at nearly EVERY game from 85 til 95 ( my dad dropped our season tickets after the strike).

But if the money was there... I would of played for the Cubs. No matter what I thought about the team growing up.

It's easy to say what you would and wouldn't do now, but things are different when the offer is made.

Well I think if I was getting offered money by the Yankees I'd be getting a pretty good offer from others, even if a different of a few million I really couldn't play the Yankees. Any other team I would definetly play for, but I couldn't play for the Yankees. That is really how bad I hate them.

What if you were a scrub pitcher like Aaron Small or Hideo Nomo that nobody except the Yankees wanted? Of course you'd take it. If the Red Sox or Angels were the only teams offering me a deal I'd take it. I'd probably deamnd a trade if gay ass Schilling was still on the team though.

Went to a Double-A game in New Britian today. Binghamton Mets @ New Britian Rock Cats (Twins' AA team)

Rock Cats' starter Adam Harben was pretty shaky. He seemed to also throw exclusively offspeed stuff. He was touched for a long HR off of Jorge Padilla in the first.

The Rock Cats' best pitcher on the day was lefty Jay Sawatski...throwing pretty hard (mid-80's...faster than anyone else at least) and he mowed down the Binghamton hitters easily.

The MVP has to go to Mets starter Bryan Edwards though. 8 IP, 1 ER, 5 hits, 2 BB

It was also pretty sick seeing Carlos Gomez play. I've heard many rank him higher than Milledge. Mets won 5-1

My cousin was on the Binghamton Mets for a while, I haven't seen him for years though. Figures the one first cousin I have that I am not real close with is the one playing minor league baseball haha

Yup he's actaully on Binghamton right now. Slack, Centerfielder. He tore it up in college and was drafted in the 5th round so he's def got some potential I'd think.

haha, I was thinking about this the other day. Next year I'm going to be playing with the NABA (National Adult Baseball Association) here in Charlotte and 1 of the 8 teams is the Red Sox and they wear the Sox uniform. I was thinking that I would feel like a huge asshole wearing a Red Sox uniform for 7 months. I couldn't do it. And you know that's the team I'll get drafted to.

There was a Yankee team in my Little League and Babe Ruth League too.
