Y'know what I find interesting about this whole Punk angle...

Vince's lawyers and Punk's lawyers both use the same black folders for their contracts.

To the people who are saying the ending segment was good until Cena came out, do you mean the fact that it was Cena or was there something wrong with Cena's promo?

I didn't see any problem with it and Cena needed to be there at the end. There was no other way to ended it.

Not to mention Cena's whole spiel on CM Punk about to walk out on the fans who support him. It is Cena stopping Vince signing CM Punk on a new long term contract by cutting that very promo.

My problem with it was just the fact that in the beginning he came out and did his little childish comedy stuff. The whole "You, no you, no you, no you." thing he did just seemed REALLY out of place, unnecessary, and the crowd wasn't into it at all. Besides that, he was good the rest of the time.

Right, but then you had 3 people who act like that anyway in Rock, Cena and The Miz, with The Rock being the master of that type of delivery. Having Cena come out and open with that stuff in a fairly serious discussion makes it out of place.

Gotta agree with this one. I was originally going to reply and say "You didn't need Cena to end the segment", but fuck, you really did. It's not like it's CM Punk v.s. VKM, you want the opponent (and top guy) in the last segment in the last week before the ppv.

It would have been good to focus on Cena a little bit more imo, considering a stipulation of the match is that he gets fired. With Punk mentioning the previous time it happened (or didn't), and not a hell a lot of focus on it, what was the point of having the stipulation anyway? If Punk wins, the shock will be focused on the title leaving the company, not Cena.

Pointless stipulation in terms of the storyline development and build-up

Cena was fine after he got his comedy routine out of the way. The comedy felt forced and out of place.

Or worse case scenario, MiTB winner cashes in on Punk after he wins, and then the focus DOES go on Cena... weak sauce, very weak sauce.

And I don't want to sound ungrateful, because this is a fantastic storyline and great TV, I just hope they don't Nexus it.

Given this storyline is playing around with the IWC, I think its to add to the shock when Punk wins, no-one expects Cena to be fired.

But I do have a horrible feeling that the reason Vince think's Cena can't win is becuase he is going to screw Cena on Sunday.

My roommate had an interesting observation that could play into how this whole angle goes down. During the promo there were two contracts out in the ring, one of which CM Punk had already signed. It could be spun that during all of the confusion, CM Punk grabbed the wrong contract and tore up the one that didn't have his signature.

CM Punk goes onto win the match this Sunday only to have Vince come out and reveil that he signed "the" contract, in effect forcing Punk to stay on. This could setup for a Punk/McMahon fued that could slowly build Punk up as an anti-hero similar to Austin.

Call me crazy, but something tells me, with the subtle things the IWC has been given during this feud, and the use of the Rocks name in several of the promos leading up, that The Rock may somehow show up and get involved as a swerve to get Cena fired. Maybe I'm just throwin shit out there at this point.

Certainly would rule it out but I was thinking they would have held out for something like this for Summerslam there's enough intrigue in the match as there needs to be espically with MITB possibly getting cashed in.

I feel that if The Rock were going to be at the PPV, they would advertise it beforehand.

Hence, why it would be a swerve. I mean, they've already built this thing up mammoth and anyone who's gonna tune in is gonna tune in. It'd be even bigger to have the Rock show up.

CM Punk goes onto win the match this Sunday only to have Vince come out and reveil that he signed "the" contract, in effect forcing Punk to stay on. This could setup for a Punk/McMahon fued that could slowly build Punk up as an anti-hero similar to Austin.
As much as that's a fantastic idea, I just watched the whole segment again and Vince does keep a hold of Punk's contract during the time Cena is in the ring, but when Punk leaves the ring, he steals it back from Vince. So if that is indeed how the angle goes down, they're going to have a tough time showing how the mix-up happened.

I thought maybe because Vince was offscreen for a long time that the mix-up could have happened then, but Vince's contract was lying in the same position when Punk left the ring as it was when Punk tipped over the table.

So Vince's contract hadn't been touched.

just watched the last segment, outstanding. Entertaining, unpredictable, "close to the bone" etc. Haven't seen much credit for Cena in here, he was bang on form/ more than equal to Punk in that segment only in a smaller dose. Be interesting to see how they play it out. All signs point to Punk not going anywhere, everything else is "up in the air", they've got the unpredictability factor right up. Crowd should be red hot come the PPV.

Cena indeed was very good. I think it shows what he can do against another talented wrestler in a well written feud. Cena, Punk and to a lesser extent VKM were all on form on Raw, and they didn't play into independent heel or face roles, they played a great shade of grey. You'd be hard pressed to say Cena is a heel in this situation though, but VKM and Punk can go either way based on their next moves...

Your implying logic when it comes to the WWE...The WWE writers could say the sky is red and "expect" that the crowd believes it.

I was, too, up until that Chavo interference bit. Thought Eddie could've easily defeated Cena for the title cleanly.
