VonErich, i really do not want to say what everybody else has been telling since forever. I do not know what tape or footage you saw, the guy THREW the beer in Artest face, and SJ threw the Haymaker. You know it, i know it, everybody knows it. Thats the only point i want to make. Yea, he is just going to start throwing punches because of no reason at all.

The beer was thrown before SJ hit the guy so yes, he threw the haymaker after the beer was hit. But when I looked at the tape I have in slow motion, he was going to swing at the guy regardless. He was already making a motion to hit the fan as the beer was being thrown.

You gotta watch it again, or splaya said in slo-mo maybe to break it down, if there had been no beer thrown SJ was still thowing a punch, before it was thrown.

I'm not talking about the cup that hit Artest on the scorers table.

It's all a moot point.

Artest never should have gone in the stands, and SJ's first reaction in the stands should have been to grab Artest who shouldn't have gone in there in the first place, not to start swinging.

as said, I feel sorry for the Pacer fans, Artest is an idiot.

Now he's on this big media blitz, they want to talk about the fight and he's promoting his Album.

I hope the Pacers find a way to cut him an no one picks him up, he makes Dennis Rodman look stable.

In regards to Ben Wallace, the only reason people are point him out in this is that his suspension of 5 games (which is normal) wasn't escalated in the way Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson's were. Wallace overreacted to the foul (which was far from hard - like someone said earlier, go ask Scottie Pippen about the scar on his chin from being pushed into a chair by Rodman for a hard foul) and then threw the towel at Artest.

If Wallace gets five games, then O'Neal and Jackson get 15 and Artest gets 30-something to take him past the all-star break. If you're going to bump the Pacers suspensions, Wallace must get more as well.

Artest will play in the playoffs, so unless he's traded while on suspension (if that's possible) then he'll play at least a couple more games as a Pacer.

I don't think you have to bump Wallaces suspension. I agree he over-reacted, but he didn't cause this whole thing and even still after getting hit by a cup from the stands, Artest shouldn't have gone into the stands in the first place.

Yeah Trips, me and everyone else who saw it that way, 2 that posted in this tread and plenty of reports who have talked and written about it.

Either way it's a moot point cause Artest never should have been in the stands in the first place!

and for the people who say "Well, what would you do". You can't say that, you have to say "What would you do if you were a pro-athlete during a game". This wasn't Artest at a bar w/ some friends and someone threw a drink in his face, this was a pro-athlete during a game getting hit by debree.

Artest runs into the crowd and goes after the guy in the black shirt. Then, while he is attacking him, another guy on the right of the screen in a black shirt throws a cup of beer in Artest's face. Meanwhile, Stephen Jackson is running up but he is still like four chairs away from the guy who threw the beer in Artest's face. AFTER he sees the dickhead throw the beer, he goes at him and punches him in the face. It is not even close to him punching him before the beer is thrown. It is clearly right after. You cannot be fucking serious unless you are talking about something completely different.

I saw the incident the other day, what a load of pussies, see Eric Cantona's kun fu kick on a fan to see how you sort them out. and the black guy who swung a punch at the other player looks like he should be really hard but he isn't. This is worse then the brawl earier this year.

Fair call, but what I'm thinking is that if a fan rushes the court and a player punches him in the face (eg J.O) then he wouldn't get a 25 game suspension. From what I saw J.O didn't do a great deal in the brawl in the stands, it was largely Artest and Jackson.

It's hard to draw the line at only nailing Pacers players for it *once the initial brawl started*. They have a right to defend themselves.

Also what was Rip Hamilton so upset about, he was visably out of control on the tape, what was the story there?

I loved how after the game tuesday night ESPN told Carlisle about more coveraged that " ESPN" found that had our rookie David harrison throwing a punch at a fan as they where leaving the court cause the fan threw a drink at him. It was great. ESPN was all pumping there chest cause they found this video. Carlisle was like." Pfffft ESPN. Of course." and walked away.

David Stern said that they saw the video but they didnt suspend Harrison because of the actions of the fans that were throwing things while him in the other players were trying to leave the court.

I think its cause that seemed to be all that was on his mind. He didn't show remorse. He didn't apologize to the fans of the NBA or to the Pacers. If one of the best players on my team was suspended for the year, I'd want an apology.

Uhh where we watching the saem interview? He apologized quite a bit.

Besides those tv channels and radio shows are using him to get the " First big scoop from the crazy guy " He wasnt even suppose to be interviewed on tv. I heard the Today channel rushed a camera down there to get the interview on tv. SO what did Artest do? He took advantage. Using people to benefit your career or your ratings goes both ways.

AAA you will disagree with this on me. But still photos and video's are 2 seperate things. When you watch a picture slide show of it, of course he is not going for the guy. But on the video before the beer is thrown Jackson is shown already going after the guy. If the SJ would not have been going for the guy whether the beer was thrown or not, he would have grabbed him and pulled him away or grabbed him and punched him. Not automatically go for a swinging haymaker on the poor guy.
