Was I the only one stupid enough to read that and go, "What? They're releasing Stevie?"

See I didn't look at it like it is.

It means, "Stevie Richards not afraid of JBL or being released".

I was dumb enough to interpret it as meaning "Stevie Richards not afraid of JBL. Stevie Richards being released."
