He's a fluke in the sense that hes not going to keep hitting homers at this pace but he is still the best hitter on that team and is going to hit 35+ homers with a .900 OPS.

I don't see him hitting more than 35 this season. My estimate would be 30-35.

Randy Johnson not looking good at all, looking a lot like the beginning of last year. When you are up 4-0 going into the bottom of the first you don't expect to be losing 4-6 in the bottom of the second.

Haven't really payed much attention to the Blue Jays at all, looks like they are hitting well so far though. I think they said 9 of their players are batting .300 or higher.

Shelton put in a ton of work during the offseason. I think he may have actually reported to Lakeland before the pitchers and catchers this year, just so he could have extra time to work out at the team facilities.

The thing is, he'll keep getting pitches because he's the #6 hitter on the team. That lineup is so stacked, that they can't pitch around him because odds are that some combination of Granderson, Polanco, Pudge, Magglio, or D Young will aleady be on base with Guillen, Monroe, and Inge (all capable hitters) following behind him. So, I don't think 35 or maybe even 40 HRs are out of the question for him.

Going to the Mets game tomorrow. Glavine vs. Hudson, should be pretty fun.

Some Mets fans REALLY piss me off though. They are 10-3, best record in the league, 4 games up in the NL East

..but even when they play like absolute crap for one game (with their least reliable pitcher on the hill and missing 3 regulars, including 2 of their best 4 hitters), they preach hellfire and declare tomorrow's game to be the whole season

Fucking morons.

Anyways, pumped for the game...hopefully at least one of Floyd/Beltran can come back.

middle relief. That'll be my Jays achilles heel over the season. If the strters can go long as much as the hype is stating they can/will, it won't matter. BUT already this year there have been times where the closers got out of the game early and the middle relief has been very suspect.

Diamondbacks lefthander Angel Rocha, 21, was suspended for 100 games, essentially ending his season. Also suspended, for 50 games as first-time offenders, were Angels righthander Karl Gelinas; Mets righthander Jorge Reyes; Cardinals outfielder Yonathan Sivira; and Padres righthander Matt Varner. All five were suspended for using performance enhancing substances, according to a release by MLB.

Rocha, signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2002, was 14-24, 4.93 in 317 career minor league innings, only 87 of which have come in full-season ball. He made one start with Triple-A Tucson in 2004, his career highlight. Rocha was not on an Opening Day roster.

Like Rocha, Reyes, 21, is from the Dominican Republic. He went 4-5, 5.20 last season, his first in the U.S., while playing for short-season Brooklyn. Reyes had opened the season with low Class A Hagerstown and was off to a good start for the Suns, throwing 11 innings in his first two starts and posting a 2.45 ERA.

Sivira, 22, signed out of Venezuela and like Reyes had yet to play full-season ball prior to 2006. He hit .253-2-17 for short-season New Jersey last season. He started this season at low Class A Quad Cities and was off to a 2-for-10 start.

Gelinas, a 22-year-old Canadian from Quebec, went 11-8, 3.81 last season at low Class A Cedar Rapids and walked just 20 in 151 innings. He was at high Class A Rancho Cucamonga in 2006, losing each of his first two starts while posting a 7.59 ERA.

Varner, 24, was an 11th-round pick out of the University of Houston and had 34 saves last season at low Class A Fort Wayne. He was 0-1, 7.36 with three saves in four games at high Class A Lake Elsinore this season.

I like Fraser and Spier in the 7th and 8th and Pete Walker for before that. Thats pretty good but you're right another arm or two is gonna be important.

Hopefully by platooning at both corner infield spots someone will develope some serious trade value. Hinske and Hillenbrand could be packaged into something pretty nice if Hillenbrand starts to heat up.

Wow, awful call by the 2nd base ump in the Yankees/Blue Jays game. The ump called Damon out when the 2nd baseman clearly never was holding onto the ball. The ump called him out, then was confused and calls him safe. Then ultimately just calls him out for good.

I'm hoping Mussina can do what he does best tonight and give us a good outing...But Vernon Wells is on my fantasy team so i want him to go atleast 5-5, just no RBI's or extra bases.

The Jays are playing too many games earlier than normal so far this year. This pisses me off as I miss them due to having to work for a living.

Is this the same for other teams? IE playing earlier than normal.

Anyone think its weird how minor leaguers keep constantly getting caught while guys in the majors arent? Could mean a different number of things; dudes in the minors not having enough resources to hide it, minor leagues taking it to get to the "next level," or maybe the MLB is going out of their way to catch these guys to show that they their system is actaully working. Pretty sure the minors got a stricter testing policy too though since there is no players union or anything (if I remember correctly, Selig put it into place one year before MLB got one)

Prob has something to do with alot more players being in the minors. That and guys who know they won't make it unless they cheat
