leaked a couple days ago. pretty smooth. it is not as wildly different as i thought it would. i didn't think i was going to like this album because it took me forever to like 'into the mirror' and i'm still not totally sold on 'my time', although the final recorded version sounds way better than anything youtube offered, obviously. way more synth-oriented as the released tracks suggested but it's not completely void of traditional bear deliciousness.

but there are some pretty solid tracks on there straight up, like 'secret country' and 'the thief'. damn, 'the thief' is so good. and 'animal backwards' is pretty sexy too, but it's built around a reversal of the 'into the mirror' riff, so although it is very good it feels kind of cheap. however, i did not hold it against coheed and cambria when they essentially made a song out of other songs with 'the willing well iii' so maybe i will let it slide because like i said, it is very good.

but fuck, using the same riff backwards? that's pretty weak. dunno if i can move past it.

'dayglow vista road' is awesome. enough said. and 'fooled by the night' is a pretty strong outro too.

i like it, with more listens i will probably really like it. i recommend it if you like their earlier stuff, you won't be disappointed.

I listened to My Time on recommendation from a friend and it was hot. Gonna check out the full album soon.

I think it picks up big time in the second half of the album
