An idea for Chris Masters
I like Chris Masters more than I should. He's always seemed like a kid who really wants to learn and become better than he is. He's not too bad on the mic, and his ring work is actually quite good now that he's not too green. I like that he is now technically a face, and it seems like they are going to keep him going on that path on SmackDown!. I think he has potential to actually get quite over, and do quite well for himself. But I think he needs a little extra hook. Something more than "look at my boobs." Here's an idea I just had that I think might have some potential:

On RAW this week, have some of the guys who have been drafted hanging around, as a sort of "final show" for them before the draft is completely set. Chris Masters can take the opportunity to do his man-boob thing with Wayne Brady, which could be fun or whatever -- but then have him find Eve Torres and tell her that he is really sad to be leaving her on RAW while he goes to SmackDown!. She is all "Yeah, it does suck" but their moment is ruined by Zack Ryder, who is all "You two make me sick." Eve asks Ryder if Rosa said goodbye to him, and Ryder gets snappy and defensive, and calls Eve a name or something. Masters than fires up and tells Ryder to show some respect to women. Ryder is intimidated, but wants Masters to face him in the ring, and he'll run him off his show like he did to The Hurricane and Tommy Dreamer. Masters, being a muscle-bound face, of course accepts.

That match is won by Ryder, using some heel trickery. He can go on to call himself "The Heart and Soul Superhero Masterpiece," doing his silly name thing from ECW. Masters is a bit frustrated by the loss, but is happy that he's got Eve at ringside. The Divas Champion, however, then breaks up with Chris publically because "I date winners. All you do is make your pecs bounce. I win championships." It'd sort of be a slight heel turn for Eve, with the idea being that becoming Divas Champion has changed her (and with Katie Lea now gone, I think they could use an extra heel in that division, especially with Natalya now there, and Melina on the way back.

Masters then trashes the ringside area, in a moment of frustration, as Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talk about how they feel bad for Masters. King can bring up his ex-wives and whatever, and make some crappy jokes as Cole can be a bit more upset that Masters, who has become such a nice guy from dating Eve, has been embarrassed in front of the world. The crowd probably won't know how to react, but Masters has actually shown a good ability to connect with them as a face, so they might actually get behind him at this point. He can then stop as he is going up the ramp, take a deep breath, slow down, shut his eyes, and then do his pec-bounce thing to calm himself down, and remind us that he still "loves fun."

It comes to SmackDown!, and Masters cuts a promo from the audience. He cuts a promo on Eve, and how she never treated him right, and he doesn't need her. He's a young stud with all the talent in the world -- and he is a winner -- he's not dating her anymore. He can go for the cheap pops, and he basically serves the purpose of getting the crowd warmed up. He then goes into the merchandise stands, grabs some t-shirts, and then starts giving them out for free. Basically, now that he's single again, he's a bit of a loose cannon, in a party animal sense. He loves hanging out with the fans, giving them free stuff, getting them pumped up in silly ways, kissing random girls in the crowd. He basically becomes "That Single Guy" Chris Masters after his break-up transforms him. His official moniker could be "The Winner" Chris Masters as a jab at Eve calling him a loser.

I dunno, it's not anything too deep -- just a slight change of character that I think could amplify the "fun" elements Chris Masters has to him as a face. There could also be the sad poignancy in seeing Masters waste away his youth and potential obsessing about the superficial nature of his world. A lot of the fans could also connect to the character and such. Young boys experiencing their first break-up or whatever could really form an attachment to Masters. The even younger crowd could like him because he's "fun." Older audience members might pick up on the womanising vibe that Masters could have veilled in the character.

Feel free to post your own ideas for Masters.

Good post. I would definitely support this idea. I like Masters more than most. He's got a good physique even without the roids, and he isn't terrible in the ring or anything. He's still only 27 so I'd love to see something done with him.

after being drafted to Smackdown, Masters is watched by CM Punk backstage. Punk turns to Serena and Gallows and says, "Man I wish I could do that with my chest". After the match, Punk attacks Masters and hits him in the chest with a steel chair repeatedly.

Next week, it is revealed that Master can no longer do his pec dance because his pecs has been damaged. Punk is shown backstage doing pec exercises and tries it out again and can sort of move his pec.

Punk eventually goes out and does a crappy version of Masters "pec dance" thing and declares that this is why he is better than masters. Masters runs out with a bandaged chest and attacks Punk only to be double teamed by Serena and Gallows.

Next week, Masters ambushes Punk as Punk is doing chest exercises and beats his chest with a kendo stick and says that he will make SURE that Punk never moves a single pec again.

The two feud for a few month over this.

I do think Chris Masters has turned around and now has a lot of potential. I could see him as the traditional baby-face.

That is why Noid is known as Professor Noid. Comes up with this stuff and it seems like out of left field. He could probably re-write 80% or more of the roster and make it WAY better.

I always thought Masters had potential, this kinda justifies it in opinion. I would totally enjoy watching this scenario play out.
