Does this quote from Warrior to Dibiase sum up the "business"?

Scott Steiner had a similar stance in a shoot interview where he said (I'm paraphrasing) Hogan was the best wrestler of all time because he drew the most. We always talk about work rate, technical skills, etc in determining who is the best, but if wrestling is first and foremost entertainment, are those who actually put butts in the seats and attract mainstream fans and ratings the best even if they won matches with leg drops and FUs?

It's true, but Warrior neglects to mention the fact that Dibiase got to where he was on talent, while Warrior got to where he was on steroids.

Also, it completely sums up the business in a round about kind of way. Anybody with more than 4 brain cells, has any kind of knowledge of the wrestling business or has actually been anywhere near the business knows this. The only ones that don't are those that sit behind their computers getting worked up because Dave Batista gets the same reaction from pulling a facial expression that Jonny Kickpadz gets from his 720 Drop You On Your Head Bomb Of Doom (I'm pretty sure Bryan Danielson knows John Cena is a better person to be the face of a company over himself, even if Green Lantern fan disagrees, basically)

They can be the best wrestler of alltime based on how much they make, if that's what matters. That matters to promoters, for sure.
That's the business.

To fans and peers, that's not so much the concern and personal character and quality of their work can hold more weight.
I could care less how much more of a draw Warrior was than ____. He was. Doesn't mean I'd rather watch his matches or talk about them on a message board.

Drawing power is very important, but it isn't everything. Drawing power only means something to the corporations that reap the benifits of those drawing. I'm not a corporation, I'm a person. I can critically think and objectivly look at ability. I don't have to resort to seeing which one makes more money to make a decision of who is better.

I am guessing he hasn't seen the self destruction DVD. I'm sorry but Warrior was a circus side show, a flash in the pan, a flashing glance of greatness that spanned a VERY blink of an eye in the business.......


Ted DiBiase was a helluva worker even BEFORE coming to WWF & becoming the Million Dollar Man. It was not a silly gimmick...It was one of the most clever and HATED gimmicks that WWE has EVER had. It worked, and continues to work, for him and his son.

In fairness to Warrior, that DVD was a hackjob. Hogan contradicted himself so many times when he was talking about Warrior.

I thought that the Warrior's response to Ted was pretty awesome. Everyone has to have a defense and Warrior's was right on. He is right, Ted was never on the same level as Warrior, and there are very few who have made it to that level (Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena, and Sammartino are the comparisons). Sure those guys weren't the best workers in the world (with the exception of Austin IMO) but they did have the same drawing ability that Warrior did, albeit in different ways.

I like to play devils advocate in life and examine both sides of an argument, and to me Warrior rebutted with a crippling reply.

Warrior is not a cool guy but he is one of the biggest draws of all time and for Diabiase to slam him for that is his right but you can't say who deserves anything based on in ring ability because it's obvious that the people who support the business (WWE Universe) generally don't give a shit about in ring talent as apposed to the "awesome factor".

Cena, Hogan, Rock, Austin, Warrior, they all have one thing in common, their awesome ass kicking characters who can beat anybody. It isn't the way the IWC thinks but we don't support WWE, we rip the PPV's for free, we torrent the DVD's and daily bitch about the product. So who's argument is better for WWE to listen to? The people who know the "right way" to do business and don't pay for shit, or the people who actually purchase tickets and dvd's and PPV's?

And how many of those people who purchase PPV's and T-shirts really give a shit about the Million Dollar Man as apposed to The Ultimate Warrior?
